Flear Farm is such an easy option when holidaying with little ones. It has numerous child friendly facilities, in particular for pre-schoolers, that all members of the family are guaranteed to enjoy a super holiday.
Flear Farm is a special place. Completely child and family ortiented there is heaps here to keep all ages occupied - from petting the friendly ponies in the paddock to running around the outdoor adventure playground or inside the incredibly well-equipped playbarn. The 40-foot heated indoor swimming pool, with its adjacent sauna, is a major hit with children and their parents. The indulgent, grownup hot tub zone is open all year round. Together with the beautiful surrounding countryside and the many hours of fun exploring the woods, a ramble in the hills spotting the wildlife or playing pooh sticks in the streams, you are only a 10 minute drive from the thriving town of Kingsbridge and just 20 minutes from the glorious sandy beaches of the South Coast. The eleven child friendly cottages offer a choice to suit all family sizes - or booked together this complex will provide for a truly memorable family get-together.
Flear Farm nestles amidst the rolling hills of the South Hams, near Kingsbridge, in South Devon. Families arriving at Flear Farm have a 30-acre estate to explore at their leisure, with woodland and streamside meadows running through an idyllic, secluded valley. Relax in a peaceful rural setting where the wildlife is abundant and the resident ponies can be found in the paddock. Facilities include an excellent, big indoor pool which opens out to a sun terrace with hot tub, a vast indoor playroom, a large trampoline, a games room and a children's outdoor play area. Improve your putting skills on the three-hole golf course, or make use of the Davis Cup size tennis court - an LTA coach is available with pre-booking.
The Holiday Cottages
At Flear Farm you will find eleven exquisite child friendly cottages with the smallest sleeping 2 and the largest sleeping 6 (plus cots). Originally the farms outbuildings these beautiful Devon stone barns have been sympathetically converted to cottages with a further two, more private, detached properties, including Orchard, a very stylish, open-plan, solid oak Barn. All the guest houses are brightly decorated with elegant soft furnishings. Their whitewashed exposed brick walls and beams add to their character. Fresh bed linen, bath and hand towels are provided. Cots, highchairs and stairgates are available on request and should you need a babysitting service, one can be arranged with prior notice.
Flear House is an absolute jewel in the crown of holiday accommodations also available to hire for exclusive use, which can sleep 10 guests (plus cots). This stunning Georgian holiday property is ideal for the larger family or group of friends looking for accommodation all year round, that offers real sophistication with it's grand pillared entrance you are going to feel like a VIP. The interior boasts a super large living room complete with marble fireplace, open fire and views of the valley , a separate drawing room with a fabulous, well equipped family kitchen, leading onto the secure courtyard and sun terraces. The five bedrooms are all spacious and tastefully decorated. The master suite is huge and has its own dressing room and en suite jacuzzi bath.
When you arrive at Flear Farm you'll find a welcome basket containing a typical Devon cream tea. While all the cottages and lodges are self-catering, guests can order their food shopping in advance. The local supermarket will deliver straight to Flear so that guests can have all their produce waiting on arrival. If you don't feel like cooking at all on holiday or want the odd night off, you have access to local kitchens that make and prepare delicious homemade food and deliver fresh, full course meals straight to your door.
Set in 30 acres Flear Farm is well situated, not just because of its seclusion, but also because "civilisation" isn't far away. The town of Kingsbridge, with its cafés and restaurants is less than a 10 minute drive and the nearest beach is 20 minutes away. It is actual a short drive away from several outstanding beaches - including the golden sandy beaches of Thurlestone, Mill Bay, Bantham and Bigbury-on-Sea, also the picturesque Blackpool Sands, the freshwater lagoon at Slapton Sands, the popular family beach Hope Cove, Salcombe North and South Sands, with their spectacular views, and the marine centre and rock pools at Wembury. Dartmoor is only a few miles to the North and boasts spectacular walking days out.
