With five jetties to choose from, boat launching and access to watersport activities as well as our nature walks, they provide one of the most idyllic locations to holiday, within the Lake District National Park.  Please call into reception for full details on their boat launching facilities and use of the piers. Fishing is also permitted from the shores, with the appropriate licences which are available locally.

Hill of Oaks - Reception and Facilities

As you enter through the South Gate, you will catch a glimpse of Windermere as you wind down past Blakeholme farmhouse, with its colourful array of pots and hanging baskets. A short distance past the farmhouse, located by the lake is the Reception and Shop. The Shop is open daily through the season and has a fine selection of provisions including newspapers, milk, eggs, wine and beer as well as a selection of recreational goods. They also sell and exchange calor gas, if required they can arrange delivery for you. There is a host of information about local attractions and walks in the vicinity including our own wildlife walks through the woodlands for you to enjoy. Outside reception, opposite the boat park, is a landscaped lawned area leading down to the lakeshore, with benches and picnic tables. The main launching slipway and piers are located in this area, please enquire at reception about access. They also have internet access on the Park, please enquire at reception for further information. They are on hand to help you make the most of your holiday.

The Play Area

The safe and secure play area holds a range of equipment set on a base of wood chippings. One area is specifically designed to suit most children from nursery upwards. The play area is fenced and off limits to dogs. We do ask that children are adequately supervised so they can enjoy their play. There is also an area set aside for older children to play ball games.

Touring Area

The touring area, ideal for touring caravans and motor homes with/without awnings is situated conveniently for the shower and toilet block. These are maintained to the highest standard and incorporate baby changing facilities, washing up area, laundry and family room with disabled facilities. Each pitch has allocated space for a car, boat as well outside space for sitting out enjoying a barbeque. A public telephone is available when the inevitable moment of no-signal appears!

Holiday Homes

Location and private boating facilities for holiday home owners provide one of the most idyllic locations within the Lake District. On the opposite shore, the sister site Buck Yeats at Lakeside offers an exclusive lodge park with access to restaurants, bars and leisure facilities. All pitches have electric, mains water, drainage, digital television connection and internet access.
