Leonard’s Cove is based in the village of Stoke Fleming, Dartmouth and is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty overlooking Start Bay. Family run, as well as being family friendly, Leonard’s Cove offers a choice of self-catering accommodation, including a bungalow and apartments with great sea views, a traditional barn with open fire, a Swiss-style A-frame wooden building and its own campsite for tents and caravans. It’s a stone’s throw from some of Devon’s amazing beaches, the nearest being the award winning Blue Flag beach Blackpool Sands, voted one of the top ten beaches in the United Kingdom. You are guaranteed a busy and happy stay with quaint Devonshire towns, beautiful beaches, shops and restaurants all within easy distance.
Leonard's Cove enjoys a fabulous location overlooking Start Bay and is so close to Dartmouth, one of the most beautiful and stunning estuaries/ports in the world. Leonards Cove, a small park family run for families, has magnificent coastal views and is just 1/2 mile from the award winning beach Blackpool Sands. The aim is to provide a peaceful and clean environment; there is no clubhouse on the site however, the village of Stoke Fleming is just a short walk away where you will find a traditional Devon country pub and a well-stocked shop.
Accommodation ranges from the Clifftop and Bayview bungalows to the Ocean View Lodges and the Barn apartments that are self-contained and offer comfort and convenience. There are also some light and comfortable Capri Caravans that sleep up to a maximum of four people, as well as the camping ground.
The Bayview Bungalow is light and comfortable with panoramic sea views over the bay. It has two bedrooms - one double and one twin. Outside there is a continuous terrace and seating area.
The Clifftop Apartments sleep either 4 or 6 and offer comfortable accommodation with a light and modern feel - both enjoy unrestricted panoramic views over the bay as well as a large private terrace from which to enjoy it.
The Ocean View Lodges are distinctive stand-alone timber buildings in a valley-setting. The Lodges have lovely views out to sea and offer spacious living areas with vaulted ceilings. Each has three bedrooms (king-size, double and twin singles), an en-suite and a family bathroom. Linen and towels are provided. Ocean View Lodges sleep a maximum of 6 people.
The Pound House is an old cider barn, converted into two luxurious apartments, with their own walled terrace. Centrally heated and double glazed the Cottage and Loft are perfect for year round holidays. Electricity is included. Linen and towels are provided. Both the Pound Cottage and Loft has a sitting room, a separate dining area, three bedrooms (king-size, double and single) and two bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher and microwave. Both apartments sleep a maximum of five people.
Dartmouth makes a great base for a holiday in Devon. The ancient narrow streets are home to an array of boutique shops and art galleries. With many gourmet restaurants, pubs and cafes to tempt. Dartmouth offers award winning beaches and fantastic coastline for lazy beach days or coastal walks for exploring the dramatic coastline and discovering the abundant wildlife. The town has lots of restaurants to choose from ranging from Michelin star restaurants to the local pub and traditional fish and chips!
The river Dart provides many water based activities from fishing and river trips to hiring a boat or exploring the area in a canoe. For those who like a ‘good walk spoiled', there is a championship golf course just 3 miles away. Nature lovers can enjoy bird watching at Slapton 4 miles away or the rolling moorland and rugged tors of Dartmoor are just 30 minutes drive.
Other local attractions include the steam railway from Kingswear to Paignton or Totnes, tennis in Dartmouth at Coronation Park, the Buckfast Otter Sanctuary and Butterfly Farm, The Pennywell Activity Farm and Wildlife Centre and Woodlands Leisure Theme Park.
