About Polurrian Bay - a Luxury Child Friendly Hotel
The Polurrian Bay is for adults who don’t want to compromise on quality just because they have become parents. Perched on Cornish cliffs amongst 12 acres of gardens, this quintessential luxury family seaside hotel has stunning views across Mounts Bay and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. All public rooms have a sunny, welcoming feel, whilst bedrooms offer fluffy towels, super comfy beds and spectacular views. You will find an array of child friendly facilities including a complimentary crèche for younger children and the Blue Room for older children.

The first thing that strikes you upon arrival at the Pollurian is the truly stunning setting at the top of the cliffs overlooking the sea. This provided beautiful views at breakfast and sunsets at dinner in the evening from the restaurant. The recently added stunning glass fronted Vista extension, with panoramic 180 degree views of the Cornish coastline and the ocean beyond is complemented by the beach which is located within a few hundred metres and is great for surfing or just watching the tide roll out - it is dreamy.
We received a warm welcome at reception and were told all about the hotels facilities and surrounding area etc, which was useful as we'd not been to the area before. When surfacing in the morning you’re greeted with a daily newsletter which is handy for organising your day with local tips and advice.
The facilities at the hotel were first class and couldn’t be faulted. You will find a crèche for little ones with plenty to keep them busy and friendly staff; the blue room kept the older kids busy with table football, computers, pool table and endless amounts of board games.
For foodies? The restaurant is stunning, with the quality of food rivalling a top end bistro, in fact I would probably make the journey for the food alone! The restaurant menu was varied and the food absolutely delicious. Candles and low lighting provided a relaxed atmosphere for grown up dinner.
The recent decorating and refurbishing has been completed to a high standard and gives a modern and relaxed feel; it’s clear no expense has been spared in this renovation.
Overall service was very good, table service in the lounge and outside was helpful and adding items to the room bill was convenient.
A most enjoyable stay at a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Will definitely be returning!
For children between three months and eight years, there's a complimentary Ofsted registered crèche - The Den, staffed by a fully qualified and experienced team. There are plenty of toys, games and activities to enjoy in either indoor or outdoor play areas. The Den operates in two hour sessions - simply book whichever session you would like your children to attend.
For older children there is the Blue Room, named after the tube created by a breaking wave - the holy grail of surfers throughout Cornwall! Stylishly designed with a futuristic look, kids can enjoy the latest video games or battle it out on the pool and table football. The hotel has a 'movie theatre' showing classic family films on a daily basis.
To make parent's lives easier there is a baby listening service, high tea, special children's menus in the restaurant, high chairs, cots and other baby essentials. Babysitters may be arranged at an additional cost via the Reservtions Team.
Burn off energy on the resurfaced tennis court or the sports field, swim in the indoor pool or seasonal outdoor pool, or work out in the fully equipped gym. There is a playground with a wooden climbing frame, swings and a slide for younger children - and of course it is just two minutes down to the gogrous beach at Polurrian Cove.
For frazzled parents...
The Purity Spa - offers that delectable dish that is so terribly hard to find at times 'you time'. There's a tempting menu of treatments to relax, revive and refresh – an idea to pass time during one of the creche sessions.
