About Sandy Balls Holiday Village

When the kids are happy, parents are happy. Time spent together is the most precious part of any holiday. At Sandy Balls there is always plenty for families to do.

Sandy Balls Holiday Village offers 5-star luxury lodges, cosy caravans and camping pods or pitches, nestled in the heart of the New Forest National Park. There is a whole host of activities to suit all interests; for more active families there is archery, bike riding, bug hunting, kayaking, laser clay pigeon shooting, horse-riding etc. There is also the freedom of walking or cycling the 120-acre estate. For rainy days the Sandy Balls runs lots of arts and crafts activities including biscuit decorating, clay making, tie-dye and woodwork. The Holiday Village has two swimming pools, inside and outside – essential to keep youngsters happy. And parents can shape up too in the fully-equipped gym or exercise classes. Perhaps a bit of pampering is more your style at the hair and beauty centre and spa, with Jacuzzi and sauna. The facilities at Sandy Balls are too many to list - just let's say even the most energetic kids and hard to please are going to have a ball. Personal electronic hand held games will be surplus to requirements!

Location location location

Sandy Balls Holiday Village is the perfect destination for a family break in the New Forest. Sandy Balls is nestled in 120 acres of glorious woods and parkland on the border of the River Avon and in the country's newest National Park in Hampshire. The location is ideal being in the middle of the New Forest and only 20 minutes away from Paulton Park and Peppa Pig World. It's a really good base for a family holiday and the facilities on site are excellent for parents and kids alike. There's so much to see and do. Sandy Balls takes its name from Sandyballas, the description given to the dome-shaped sand and gravel outcrops on the estate’s western boundary. Some lovely walks on the River Avon are easily accessed and it's only about a 30 minute drive to various seaside towns.

Sandy Balls Holiday Village offers weekend breaks (Fri-Mon), mid-week breaks (Mon-Fri) or week-long stays (Friday to Friday) for all lodge, caravan holiday homes and camping pods. For touring, you can arrive on any day of the week.

Woodland Lodges

The woodland lodges are nestled within a woodland paradise and are furnished to the highest standard. They provide the perfect base for exploring the surrounding attractions or for simply relaxing in the tranquility of the park and enjoying time with your loved ones. All lodges are centrally heated, open plan living with TV & DVD and fully equipped kitchen with microwave. Bed linen is supplied and all have a decking area, BBQ stand & picnic area. Pet friendly and pet free options are available. Upgrade to a lodge with a view or a separate en-suite. Open plan living with the option of 2 or 3 bedrooms.

Premium Lodges have come with some added extras as standard to make your stay more comfortable. Flat screen TVs in the lounge and bedroom, a dishwasher to take the hassle out of your holiday, and iPod docking stations to keep you entertained. Complimentary towels and two bathrobes, an early check in and complimentary use of the gym add to your stay.

Premium Vista Lodges are the most luxurious of the woodland lodges at Sandy Balls - they feature floor to ceiling windows, infinity floors onto the veranda and tasteful décor to make you feel at home. These fully equipped lodges have two bedrooms, a sofa bed in the lounge, and offer all of the luxuries that come with the Premium Lodges like a second TV in the bedroom, iPod docking station, fluffy towels and two bathrobes, and early check in at 1.30pm.

Camping at Sandy Balls

Designed to comfortably sleep a family of 4, the wooden camping pods have double insulation to provide a warm and cosy alternative to sleeping under canvas. A sofa bed provides a comfortable bed for the adults, whilst the kids can have fun sleeping on pull out sofa chairs.

For those who prefer to bring their own equipment there are the fully-serviced touring pitches for caravans, motor homes and tents. During August Sandy Balls opens up its basic camping field Cornfield.  A great atmosphere prevails as families of campers sleep under canvas. Full access to all Sandy Balls facilities in your generously sized pitches as are hot showers in portable shower units.

All the serviced pitches come with gravel hard standing, drainage and electricity, water and satellite TV hook-up. Pitch fees include the use of our well-appointed shower, toilet and laundry blocks with their unlimited supply of hot water and underfloor heating. Of course, Sandy Balls also has all the essential facilities you would expect from a 5-star village - a launderette and 3 spotless and well-maintained shower blocks for tourers.

Facilities and things to do

Sandy Balls has a whole host of things to do including an activity schedule with something to suit every member of the family. The activities available range from walking, cycling, bug hunts, arts and crafts activities, football sessions, horse riding, kayaking, archery and laser combat games. There is also a calendar of special events taking place throughout the year.

Free entertainment is available every day in the school holidays and at weekends throughout the year.

Sandy Balls also has a fully-equipped gym, one indoor and one outdoor swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and sauna, plus a beauty suite. And of course, just because you are ‘self-catering’ it doesn’t mean that you have to do all of the work! There are plenty of places for you to enjoy a bite to eat, no matter how hungry you are. There are two restaurants on site: cosy pub the Woodside Inn and Italian restaurant The Forest Table, plus a well-stocked village store and a takeaway service to make eating easy for a relaxing family holiday.

And finally...

It’s a place where families can spend some real, quality time unwinding and enjoying themselves in beautiful surroundings. Splash on the sun cream or enjoy the warmth of your cosy hat and scarf as you ramble through the forest. Wondrous walks, challenging hikes, relaxing family bike rides (you can hire everything from the holiday village) or adrenaline-pumping mountain bike treks; Sandy Balls offers something for everyone.
