Step off the train and into nature at Ashurst campsite, nestled in the New Forest where you'll wake up to beautiful views and tranquil woodland surroundings. The spacious bell tents have a double bed, 2 single futons, LED lighting - dress it up with your own bedding and make it as cosy as you like. A cool box, picnic bench with a coal BBQ for cooking are provided - take your own cook ware. There are well-maintained facilities on site - pubs, shops, and cafes are nearby. Min stay 3 nights.

Camping in the Forest's glamping offering is ideal for families,who want to rock up and not have to pitch up - while savouring the natural beauty of the New Forest.

Inside the bell tent, you'll find a cosy and well-equipped space, designed so that you can create as cosy a feel as you like. The bell tent comfortably sleeps up to 2 adults and 2 children, with a double bed and two futon single beds. The interior also features flooring and LED lighting.

There are a few essentials you’ll need to remember - including bedding, including sheets, blankets, and pillows. The pics give you a good idea of what can be achieved.

Additionally, make sure to take your cooking equipment, such as a burner, kettle, pans, and utensils, so that you can prepare your meals.

With everything you need for a relaxing and memorable stay, the Ashurst bell tent allows you to enjoy the beauty of the New Forest while offering the convenience of a relaxed perfect glamping experience.

Eat

Each bell tent has a cool box, stocked with fresh ice blocks upon your arrival, which you can easily swap at reception to keep your food and drinks chilled. The tent is also equipped with cutlery and crockery for up to four people, so you can dine in comfort. Outside, you’ll have an exclusive seating area with a picnic bench, perfect for enjoying meals or simply taking in the views of the surrounding woodland. A coal BBQ and utensils are also provided, making it easy to prepare a tasty outdoor meal.

Lyndhurst is just a short drive away, offering a range of local shops, restaurants, and cafes. Alternatively, you can take a short walk to the ‘Happy Cheese,’ a nearby pub serving delicious food.

Activities

There’s plenty of enjoyment to be found simply wandering through the beautiful woods surrounding Ashurst, but if you’re looking for something specific, there are several must-visit spots nearby. Just a 10-minute drive away, you’ll find the Blackwater Arboretum, home to a stunning collection of trees from around the world, offering a peaceful place to explore. Alternatively, head to Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary (15 minutes) where you’re guaranteed to spot the native deer at feeding time, making it an exciting stop for animal lovers.

If you're seeking more family-friendly activities, Paultons Park – Home of Peppa Pig World is only 12 minutes away and offers younger children the chance to meet their favourite cartoon characters and enjoy a variety of gentle rides. For older children or those with a love for classic cars, the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu (15 minutes away) offers an exciting collection of vehicles and attractions.

This location on the eastern side of the New Forest National Park also offers easy access to Southampton, just a 15-minute drive away. Here, you can visit the fascinating SeaCity Museum and the Solent Sky Aircraft Exhibition, or even catch a ferry for a scenic trip to the Isle of Wight. Whether you’re looking for nature, wildlife, family attractions, or a cultural day out, there’s no shortage of things to explore in this beautiful part of the New Forest.

Where is it and how do you get there?

By Road

Ashurst Campsite lies 2.5 miles North East of Lyndhurst on the A35.

Leave the M27 at junction 3 on to the M271, signposted Southampton & The Docks.

At Redbridge Roundabout take the 2nd exit on to the A35, in a south westerly direction towards Totton and Lyndhurst.

Continue on the A35 over two roundabouts, heading towards Lyndhurst.

Pass through Ashurst Village with the train station to the left.

Continue over the railway bridge and Ashurst Campsite is signposted left just after the New Forest Pub.

The nearest bus stop is visible from the Site Reception and less than a 5 minute walk away. The bus route is the Bluestar number 6 which runs between Southampton and Lymington. The journey to Lymington takes around 35 minutes

By Rail

Ashurst New Forest station is about 5 minutes walk from the Campsite, next to the New Forest Inn. South West Trains operates a regular service from Southampton to Bournemouth, stopping at Ashurst New Forest. The journey to and from Southampton takes approximately 10 minutes and Bournemouth is approximately 35 minutes away.
