British couple Russell and Heather with their three young boys have created a wonderful haven for families at their home in a rather grand but homely 19th century Chateau. Heather loves cooking and entertaining and will make your time at Chateau de la Lanette memorable for all the right reasons – a laid back, welcoming atmosphere, lovely comfortable accommodation.
Rooms: there are two family suites and three family rooms available at the Château. The suites, located on the first and second floor of the property, both have breathtaking mountain views and lovely original features. They each accommodate up to five people and consist of a spacious room with a king-size bed and sitting area, and a separate interconnecting room with up to 3 single beds and or cots, and a baby changing table. The en-suite bathrooms are finished to a high standard with local Spanish tiles, quality fittings and have baths and separate showers and heated towel rail.
The three family rooms each sleep up to four people and have been restored to create a serene and special place to relax and sleep. The Chambre St Julien is a huge airy room with small private balcony with stunning views of the Pyrenees. This room has a king-size bed and is large enough to accommodate 2 children’s beds or cots - it has an ensuite with a bath and shower. The Chambre Pic Du Gar is a spacious room also with space to accommodate up to 2 beds or cots. It has a large balcony looking out over the mountains. The en-suite also has access to the balcony, is tiled throughout and has a large walk in shower. The Chambre De Jardin is situated at the back of the house with its own private access to the gardens by a small bridge. Slightly smaller than the other rooms it has space for an extra bed or cot. The en-suite is tiled, has a heated towel rail and shower.
All rooms have toy boxes, changing mats, potties and a baby monitor.
To help lighten the load families are welcome to borrow from backpacks to pushchairs including a double pushchair plus there are two adult bikes available, one with a toddler seat on the back.
For families with babies there is a comprehensive list of baby kaboodle able to borrow including microwave bottle steriliser, bouncy chairs, baby walker, playpen, play mat, highchairs, potties, trainer seats, baby bath and baby monitors.
You may decide to chill out in your room, or congregate in the salon room. The spacious lounge provides a relaxing zone for parents in which to wind down at the end of your day with three large squidgy sofas. A wonderfully ornate high ceiling, parquet flooring and marble fireplace with open log fire offers a warm welcome through the year.
