Whether you're after sanctuary or adventure, Cosy Under Canvas holidays are great for family down-time or upbeat gatherings. Offering a unique opportunity for grown ups to relax around the campfire, while children's imaginations run wild through the woods - send them off scouting for fallen twigs as toasting marshmallows on your own camp fire tastes all the better if you have sourced the wood - trust me! Your dog is most welcome too.

We love camping in all its forms and with three children of our own we understand that sometimes you just need to ‘make life easy’. Over the last 10 years we have listened and learned and we are always on hand for assistance with fire lighting, advice about activities or even the loan of a pair of wellies. Knock on the door, leave us a note or give one of our kids a message and we’ll be right there to answer any questions we can. We are proud of what we have created here in our small but lovely woodland and we sincerely hope that you enjoy your stay with us.

Owner recommendations

  • Book a local therapist to come to you. Take your pick between a relaxing deep tissue back massage, holistic facial and neck massage or healing reflexology.

  • If you’d rather not leave the comfort of the site our friends at Interactivities have a fabulous Archery set up that they can bring up for a half day activity.

  • Go on a country walk or hike up a mountain. We can provide you with maps for walks direct from your dome door or borrow an OS map and walk in the Black Mountains or Brecon Beacons.

  • Treat yourselves to portrait photography as a memory of your holiday. We can recommend an experienced photographer and mountain walker, plus she's a mum herself.

  • The most popular activity for guests of all ages is a half day meander down the River Wye. Hire a kayak or a Canadian canoe and paddle your way down a quiet unspoilt and beautifully serene stretch of the River.

  • Horse riding on the local common land is another rewarding way to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Situated only 2 miles from Cosy Under Canvas you can pop along whatever your ability. The views are simply stunning.
