The team at La Mare Chappey believe the secret to a successful family holiday is space. Thus their characterful cottages are designed with that in mind. There’s ample room inside and out the lovely gites, creating an environment of peace and relaxation for all the family. Whilst retaining the character of the 16th century manor estate, each property has as much of the convenience and luxury of modern day living as is possible. Expect to find king size beds, crisp bed linens, fully equipped kitchens and gadgets including ipod docks and wifi. For parents of babies and toddlers, most of the cumbersome equipment you need is provided. From cots through to black-out blinds, the experienced (parents themselves!) hosts have thought of it all.
Once a medieval manor house and outhouses, the five sensitively renovated cottages are all set around an expansive landscaped lawn and brilliant outdoor space. They all boast their own enclosed secluded patio area, equipped with tables and chairs, a barbecue and outside lighting. Wonderful for catching some sun during the day, and totally relaxing during balmy evenings, eating alfresco or enjoying a cool drink with friends and family. Keep an eye on kids running amuck in the garden from the comfort of your own terrace. Grange, Puddleduck and River cottages are spacious three-bedroom properties sleeping up to six guests each. Smaller families enjoy the two-bedroom Bumpkin Cottage, or the cosy but charming Coach House Apartment which sleeps two plus cot. For larger parties, guests are encouraged to book a selection of gites together. The open and communal gardens make it a great spot for extended family get-togethers, and encourage making friends, young and old.
