Child Friendly Holidays Hampshire

The New Forest is Hampshire's centrepiece for families, and it earns the reputation. Ancient woodland, free-roaming ponies, cycling trails that children can manage comfortably and a network of child-friendly farm stays and forest cottages make it one of the most complete family holiday landscapes in southern England. The forest has a way of slowing everything down, and families tend to arrive with a plan and abandon it happily within a day. Winchester is worth a day of any family holiday in Hampshire. The cathedral city is compact, walkable and full of history that lands well with children: the Great Hall, the Round Table, the water meadows and the independent shops and cafes that line the streets. It never feels like a tourist trap. The Hampshire coast stretches from the Solent shores across to Bournemouth, taking in the sailing town of Lymington, the quiet beaches around Lepe and Calshot and the busier seaside at Southsea. Families based in the New Forest can be on the coast in under half an hour, which gives a holiday here a flexibility that is hard to match. Portsmouth is outstanding for families with older children. The Historic Dockyard, HMS Victory, the Mary Rose and the submarine museum make it a full day without trying, and the views across the Solent are genuinely spectacular. All of the properties here are Away with the Kids approved, visited, vetted and genuinely loved by families with children of their own. Use the filters above to find what suits your family.
