What we think

"Somerset Yurts are breathtaking and beautiful in a romantic Gypsy caravan style. How amazing for our little ones to have the chance to see a farm and its inhabitants so up close and personal."

About the owners

Mark and Emma

Listed since June 2011

Having spent ten years in corporate life around the Thames Valley, we decided the time was right to move back to Mark’s family farm and settle down in our beloved West Country. We love showing guests around our farm, introducing our cows and calves, and showing the milking process.

Tips from the owners

Local things to do, places to eat and attractions not to be missed.

  • Within walking distance are the famous and unique Hestercombe Gardens, which have special kids’ trails during school holidays.

  • Just three miles away is Fyne Court (National Trust), a beautiful nature reserve that’s ideal for walks – children love exploring it, plus it’s free entry.

  • The farm borders the Quantock Hills; borrow an OS map to explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

  • A 20-minute drive away, at the Willows and Wetlands Centre, you can find out how Somerset willow is grown, harvested and processed before being crafted into beautiful traditional baskets.

  • It’s hard to resist the nostalgic charm of the West Somerset Railway, enabling you to take a steam train from the gentle, rolling Quantock Hills to the beautiful North Somerset Coast.
