Tips from the owners

Local things to do, places to eat and attractions not to be missed.

  • Bring your bikes and take an easy flat route down the Cuckmere Valley to the beach and cafe, or try the trails at Friston Forest.

  • On Seaford Beach, Frankie’s Beach Cafe is heaven for coffee and cake (our Richard says). In the summer it also has the only sandpit on the Sussex coast.

  • Middle Farm offer a warm country welcome, with something for every member of the family to enjoy from feeding the lambs, grooming a horse to just sitting in the café or perusing their cider selection.

  • For the perfect family day out take a trip to Newhaven Fort and explore the vast, echoing tunnels built into the chalk cliffs. The cliff-top gun emplacements are sure to fire any imagination!

  • Check the event listings at Glyndebourne for a culture fix.
