Treat the family to a day out at a top UK attraction in the summer holidays. From theme parks to castles, you won’t be stuck for choice and there many deals to be found online it won’t have to cost you a fortune. Many of these attractions are also holding concerts over the summer period - a must for music fans. Here are our top family friendly picks for this summer.

X factor stars Alexandra Burke and Olly Murs will be performing live at Warwick Castle this July. Both singers will perform a string of their well-known hits at the outdoor venue. There's so much to explore at Warwick Castle during the day time before seeing the concert, it's a great place to visit with your kids. Let them run around the 60 acres of open gardens, play dress up in the princess tower or even enter the castle dungeons - only recommended for the bravest visitors!


Alton Towers Live at Alton Towers

Enjoy a fun-filled day and evening at the Alton Towers Resort. The Alton Towers Live event is an evening of pure pop madness! Spend the day enjoying all the rides at the park before seeing JLS, McFly, The Saturdays, Eliza Doolittle, Charlotte O'Connor and Allstar Weekend performing their hits live on stage. The concert starts at 4:30 giving you and your family plenty of time to enjoy the park before watching the concert.

This is a must for families with young children. Take a day out in Windsor and experience LEGOLAND Live. Dubbed as "My First Festival", your kids can sing along to some of their favourite characters as they take to the stage. See Justin Fletcher, Fireman Sam, Postman Pat and Jess the Cat and loads more characters singing and dancing the afternoon away. There's much to do at LEGOLAND, with over 55 rides and attractions and the Parks brand new ride, Atlantis Submarine Voyage.


Eden Sessions at Eden Project

This is one for families with older children looking for some great live music this summer. The Eden Project is a very popular destination all year round and is home to the famous Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes. Every summer, they host a string of live music gigs, The Eden Sessions. This year’s lineup caters for all tastes with Brandon Flowers performing on the 12th July, Primal Scream on the 23rd June and Pendulum on the 25th June 2011. Spend the day walking around the beautiful grounds before heading off to see your favourite act perform on stage.

Have you got teenagers who are fans of Peter Andre or N-Dubz? Then make sure you head down to Rochester Castle this July. The historic castle is hosting two live music concerts, sure to satisfy any pop fan! The smaller venue makes sure you are up close to the stage. While you're in the area, why not spend some time exploring the surrounding area in the Garden of England?
