Hyde Park is a major park in Central London. It is the largest of four Royal Parks. There are many family events and free activities taking place throughout the year.

Hyde Park covers 350 acres and is home to a number of famous landmarks including the Serpentine Lake, Speakers' Corner and the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain.

The park also offers various recreational activities including open water swimming, boating, cycling, tennis and horse riding.

The Serpentine Lido

The Serpentine Lido and its accompanying paddling pool are great for both adults and children. It is open on weekends throughout May (including the May Day Bank Holiday) and seven days a week from 1 June to 12 September.

Alongside the Serpentine Lido is the Lido Cafe Bar which has waterside tables and is the ideal place to enjoy a snack, meal or a glass of wine.

The Princess Diana Memorial Fountain

This memorial to Diana, Princess of Wales was opened by Her Majesty The Queen in 2004. The fountain is made from 545 pieces of Cornish granite - each shaped by computer-controlled machinery and pieced together using tradtional skills. The design aims to reflect Diana's life; water flows from the highest point in two directions as it cascades.
