Children can see and experience first-hand what it was like to serve on board the ships that shaped Britain's history, and what it is like to be in the Royal Navy today.
There is so much to do and see at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard - an enormously busy day out for the family with plenty of activities for all, from boat trips, to museums and exhibitions to laser games.
Here's the lowdown on a few of the highlights:
HMS Victory and HMS Warrior 1860
You can go aboard and look around these wonderful historic vessels. HMS Victory, the world's oldest commissioned warship, took part in the Battle of Trafalgar and is where Nelson died. HMS Warrior 1860 is still afloat in the harbour and is the only surviving member of Queen Victoria’s Black Battle Fleet.
