WWT Martin Mere is where wilderness and family-friendliness combine. In winter, many thousands of wild ducks, geese and swans are drawn to the internationally-rated wetlands, offering spectacular displays of feather and flight. But there is plenty to see and do at Martin Mere all year round, with more than 100 types of rare and endangered water-birds, a family of beavers and enchanting otters in residence, an imaginative playground for young adventurers and an inspirational eco-garden. Seasonal attractions include an award-winning duckling nursery in Spring, celebrations of local history in summer and wildlife gardening, and a rolling programme of events, walks and talks.

- Listen to the beaver talk and touch a beaver fur and skull
- Watch the swan feeds on the mere and be amazed by the number of geese on the reserve

The brand new Mere Side cafe offers a delicious selection of hot and cold food, a variety of coffees and chilled drinks, and tempting home-made cakes. From healthy vegetarian salads to hearty meat dishes, all can be enjoyed overlooking the beautiful wetlands.The gift shop stocks a wide range of wildlife books, outdoor clothing, bird feeders/boxes, postcards and stationary. There is also an in focus optics shop at the centre selling everything you will ever need to watch wildlife
