About Auvergne Naturelle
For families looking for a unique French holiday stay and particularly for those who love nature, then Auvergne Naturelle is a most fantastic choice. Located in Laval sur Doulon, a small hamlet in the heart of the Livradois National Park, in France, this collection of four sumptuously furnished yurts offers luxury camping in a peaceful woodland setting. Outside each yurt there is your own decking area complete with table and chairs and a hammock - the perfect spot in which to revel in your surroundings. Meanwhile the kids are off exploring, or making friends with the fairies.....yes truly, the woodland is a magical place. Although there is an allocated play area on site with rope bridges and secret dens, nothing can beat 20 acres of private woodland to provide a natural playground for children to explore. The whole family can even partake on the bushcraft courses and learn a few skills. A holiday here will certainly create happy carefree times with wonderful memories to last a lifetime.
A holiday at Auvergne Naturelle is a great way to enjoy the simple pleasure of a camping adventure in the beautiful surroundings of the unspoilt Auvergne region. You get to camp out in style, in luxurious holiday yurts; the ultimate in Glamping.
Nestled in the heart of the Livradois National Park, Auvergne Naturelle provides the perfect mix of being outdoors and getting back to nature without having to miss out on those "home from home" comforts. Spend magical moments with family and friends and take a break from the fast pace of everyday life to re-charge those batteries.
The Holiday Yurt Accommodation
Each yurt is located on an elevated position in the woodland giving not only a high degree of freedom but also wonderful views of the surrounding area. Inside each 18 ft yurt you will find extremely comfortable accommodation that is beautifully furnished and can sleep a family of 6. A cosy king size double bed takes centre stage complete with a lovely thick duvet for the cooler nights. Children are provided with camp beds, sleeping bags and blankets. Placed on raised wooden platforms, the yurts all feature verandas with seating areas including tables; ideal for alfresco dining and admiring the view. The outdoor hammock is the most wonderful spot to read that long awaited novel. Solar panels provide ample lighting and outside each yurt are en suite wash basins and a discreet composting toilet. A short walk away from the yurts you'll find your own individual hot showers, one for each yurt so families are allocated their own private shower with plenty of hot water.
Additional Self-Catering Facilities
The old barn is a communal self-catering area with kitchen facilities consisting of gas hobs, fridge and microwave where families can prepare and eat their meals. Every morning a hearty, continental breakfast is included the cost of your stay, with cereals, fresh bread and patisseries, local jams and honey, yoghurts, fresh fruit, tea, coffee and fruit juice. Evening meals are served 3 times a week so that you can enjoy a break from cooking - well you are on holiday after all! Serving tasty home cooked food with menus suitable for both children and parents alike.
Things to Do Around and About Livradois National Park
Children will relish the freedom they have to explore the hilly wooded site, visit the fairy garden on a daily basis, paddle or canoe in the nearby river, hire a 'pack-donkey' for a day's walk with a picnic and visit the local historic castles. You can take a guided wildflower walk and see how many different species of birds, butterflies or animals you can spot. Deer, roe-deer and wild boar are often seen in the woodland and you may also spot a stoat , wild cat or genet. If you are lucky, you may see the shy black grouse which is the symbol of the Livradois National Park. Families also have the opportunity to partake in a Bushcraft Course which is a fabulous way to learn about the surrounding natural environment where you can learn how to make a fire with sticks or find out which plants you can eat.
Whether you want a relaxing holiday or something a bit more active, at Auvergne Naturelle there are lots of opportunities for you to make your holiday your own. The scenery is stunning and it's such a unique, relaxing camping experience that creates joyful memories to last a lifetime. For me, the simple pleasure of toasting marshmallows around a camp fire, with a mug of hot chocolate and marvelling the night sky with its vast array of stars just cannot be beaten.
