From lakeside pitches with strolls through the forest, play areas to wind down in and of course a paddle in a loch such as the infamous Loch Lomond, to riverside camping for much of the same or mountain views with stunning walks and inexpensive days out aplenty, featuring lots of walking and exploring, finding a camping spot across Scotland will ensure a real break from it all with little else to interrupt the peace but bird song and other sounds of nature. The benefits of a camping holiday with the kids are well-known and well-documented - fresh air, freedom, time to be without technology and enjoy some imaginary play, space to make new friends. There's nothing quite like waking up to the smell of sizzling bacon (hopefully your partner will take the initiative) and enjoying a lazy cuppa whilst the kids race about with new found friends and plan their day. Grab your tent and go - you'll experience a whole new environment - and it's a very lovely one.
