About Casale I Perugini

Immerse yourself in a truly Italian holiday in one of these light and airy apartments in gorgeous rural Umbria. Soak up the sun by the pool, relax in the gardens or head out into this unspoilt part of Italy that’s perfect for a family holiday. The farmhouse at Casale I Perugini has been a family owned country residence since the 1950’s and is now a wonderfully peaceful and family-friendly retreat with converted apartments sleeping between 2 and 6, set around a large communal terrace with BBQs and individual seating areas for al-fresco family meals. There’s plenty for the kids to do in the grounds, and some wonderful places to visit nearby.

The Apartments

The converted apartments are all roomy, light and perfectly equipped for a family holiday. Wrought iron beds (in keeping with local crafts) and traditional Umbrian furnishings make these simple apartments homely and comfortable.  Fully fitted kitchens, plus outdoor space are great for enjoying family meals and a glass or two or wonderful local wine.

1 bedroom apartments sleep 2-3 with a queen sized bed, plus fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and lounge area. Larger apartments sleep 4-6 in 2 bedrooms with the addition of a dining area.

Casale I Perugini is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Children will love exploring the grounds, playing table tennis or football, and making friends around the pool. The children’s play area is fully shaded to provide protection from the Italian summer sun, and for parents there is plenty of space to chill by the heated pool or in shady areas in the gardens.

In July and August take a moonlight dip in the pool, or join a guided hike around nearby Mount Tezio - suitable for all ages, discover the the Fagetto in the forest, or take a walk to Polvese Island at Trasimeno Lake. At this time of year you can also get a taste of Umbria at “The Sagra” - weekly family feasts with typical regional food and live music.

Make the most of the wonderful location with a visit to Lake Trasimeno for beaches, wildlife and boat trips to the islands of the lakes. Children will love a day out at Città della Domenica, with animals, play areas, boats, horse riding and live shows.

For something a bit different and very Umbrian, head to one of the nearby thermal baths for an afternoon of relaxation. Or walk to the top of Monte Tezio for spectacular views - time it right and enjoy a stunning sunset over Lake Trasimeno.

You’ll also be within driving distance of some of Italy’s amazing historic cities with Assisi just 30 minutes away, and Perugia a short 20 minute drive.

Food and Drink

During July and August coffee is served every morning by the pool, and arrival aperitifs are organised by the friendly and welcoming owners. Summer trips to village “Sagra” (feasts) are a great way to experience local cuisine and sample the wine.

BBQs are available on the terraced area and the small village of Colle Umberto is only 1km away with restaurants and gelateria.

Parents and Kids

Valentina and Caterina love to welcome families with children to I Perugini and have thought of everything to make things as easy as possible for parents. Cots and high chairs are available on request, along with bed guards, monitors, sterilisers, baby baths, blenders, potties and strollers. Plastic cutlery and plates can also be provided.

The atmosphere is perfect for children who want to play out and make friends, and during high season there are organised play sessions (high season only) with games, balloons and music.

Owner Valentina lives on-site and is always happy to help provide local information, recommendations or to assist you with any requests.
