You'll really feel like part of the family, with the owners living on this beautiful estate too along with their 6 children who have grown up here and earned their pocket money helping out. Fun on the Farm

With 30 acres to explore and the magical morning tractor and trailer feed run under the watchful eye of Farmer Nick, or Farmer Amber, the children will have the holiday of a lifetime. The morning 'feed run' is a wonderful chance to meet other families staying at Coombe Mill. They will have hands on experience with feeding everything from deer, pigs, ponies, goats and sheep to chickens and rabbits. Good to know that much of what they learn will also help them at playgroup and school whilst still having a fun holiday. Activities like picking an egg to take back for breakfast and taking a turn at helping to drive the tractor is always popular. Coombe Mill even have teacher approved education pages based on farm learning to further support an educational holiday experience. Try your hand at fishing in the course fishing lakes or in the river Camel that runs through the estate and end the day with a fun train ride on the Coombe Mill railway.

What is there to keep the children busy

Quite simply you are going to have problems tearing the kids away from Coombe Mill for a day out. The animal feed run is such a highlight of the holiday but there are oodles of other things laid on for the kids to keep them amused. There are three outdoor play areas. One play area has ride on toddler trikes and tractors for under 5's. Another play area has a play fort, swing, slide, bouncing board, zip wire and giant sand pit with sit on diggers. Across on the cottage lawn is a badminton net (rackets and shuttlecocks available from the borrow room) and an exciting pirate boat with slide and trampoline which is great for imaginative play. All the young children and toddler play areas are safely fenced making play time much more relaxing for parents. There are plenty of wild play areas to discover too like a covered mud kitchen, den building area and wildlife trails with animals to spot and a tree swing to discover. The indoor play barn is ideal for all weather fun for under 5's while older children have a games room with free pool and ping pong inside. Coombe Mill has their very own miniature railway taking children and parents round the pretty track each afternoon. The train times vary throughout the year. Join at the station and hop on board for a fun tour of the gardens. Toot toot, listen out for Guy or Jed, the resident drivers and owners children, with their whistle. Take turns to wave the train out of the station or hold it up operating the signals. Be sure to watch out for the crafts and games in activity hour, adapted each week for the ages of the children staying.
