Hidden Valley Yurts are surprisingly just that - part of an 80 acre woodland and farm in the Wye Valley (an AONB) and nestled in a gorgeous sheltered valley you'll find five yurts and a Lakehouse, each individually decorated and offering a gorgeous view, fresh air and bird song - do we really need much more?
Hidden Valley is a perfect getaway for a quiet family break (if there is such a thing!) or a big group get-together where adults can catch up whilst children disappear in their newly built dens or get soaked in the stream. And if there isn't a group of you, the kids will soon make friends - there is no distraction to be had other than happy, healthy and wholesome outdoor fun!
The yurt will be ready and waiting with cosy throws, rugs ponchos and cushions to relax with - and beds!!! Two yurts have super king-size beds, the rest have king-size beds, all have a day bed and single wooden futons. You will need to take your own bed-linen and duvets - pillows are supplied. Tea-lights and outdoor lights are supplied.
Importantly you have a real wood-burning stove in which to practice fire building, brewing tea and patience, depending on who is lighting it! You also have your own chiminea and bbq, on your own deck, with tea-lights provided should you wish to dine outside and enjoy your surroundings. The yurt has starter wood supplied - extra wood is available and is paid for via the honesty box. There are also rechargeable lanterns for convenience. There is a list of things not to forget so ask for it on booking!

At Hidden Valley its all about making the guests feel at home. The huge beds are just the start, everything is provided everything which might be needed for a home away from home holiday: fully equipped kitchens including a dishwasher and breadmaker, a wood burning pizza oven, herb garden, chicken run providing fresh eggs, bbq on every deck, loads of seating, loungers and swing seats, a campfire, a woodburner in every yurt, a boules pitch and games galore. The owners at Hidden Valley work with local businesses to offer a great range of activities either on site or locally. Guests can enjoy pamper treatments, clay pigeon shooting, catering, bushcraft and even hot tub hire on site! Once here, guests can truly relax and settle in to glamping life.
The yurts are waterproof and insulated with felt - perfect all weather accommodation - warm on cooler days and cool on warm! Each is equipped with a smoke detector, carbon monoxide alarm and a fire extinguisher - guards are provided for the wood burners.
The camp is spring fed and so drinking water is plentiful and as fresh and as good as it gets. The site has a communal shower and a bath/shower and two flushing toilets and hand basins. Hot water is readily available - bliss.
The lake is completely private, a stream runs alongside, and it is situated at the bottom of a lovely valley giving an incredible outlook over the land. The emphasis is on luxury and quality, with no detail overlooked. There’s a double-level deck leading down to the lake with bbq and sunloungers, and a covered veranda running the full length of the building. Guests can lie in bed and watch the water rippling on the lake and the breeze blowing through the trees. We’re sure this is going to be a very special holiday home for many. The owners will also be hosting courses and training sessions here, using the large indoor and outdoor space for rural skills, wellbeing, yoga, holistic therapies and more.
Please note there is no swimming in the lake - it's deeper than it looks.
Enjoy a good old board game from the cupboard, build a dam in the stream, walk and walk and walk through woodlands or meadows - borrow kids toys, books, paper and paints or start up one of the outdoor games, such as cricket and croquet.
Hidden Valley has lots of new animals, including Highland cattle and several different types of sheep along with chickens - where your children can collect freshly laid free range eggs for free.
Beyond the lovely valley you have lots of lovely towns to visit, Symonds Yat (a child-hood favourite), horse-riding, canoeing, tree-climbing, steam railways, theatres, festivals, local pubs and a maze and more - best do the maze before the pub!
