About Letoonia Resort - Belek

An all-inclusive beach-side resort for all the family. A stroll to the beach, several outdoor pools to choose from, a busy activity package and fabulous places to eat - without having to travel anywhere - perfect!

Letoonia Belek is an all-inclusive holiday resort on the Turkish coast.  Welcoming and friendly the staff will whizz you down the covered walkway to the bustling hub of the resort - with pools, huge outdoor bar, water slides, fabulous restaurants, shops, kid clubs and of course your accommodation waiting for you.

We arrived in the middle of August - it was hot!  The hottest day we had it got to 42 degrees yet somehow it was bearable - the shaded sun-loungers, plentiful pools (there is an indoor one too) and indoor play areas helped!

You will either be accommodated in the hotel itself or in one of the 'bungalows' scattered around the resort.  All are easy to get to - the resort is flat with walkways snaking through - the girls loved going exploring them.

Our room was huge and comfortable and easily fitted the three extra beds required.  In fact we could easily have fit the grandparents in too!  The bathroom was standard with toiletries and towels provided.  The air-conditioning was effective thankfully!

The range of places to eat is fantastic  the 'main' self-service restaurant provides delectable goodies for the fussiest of eaters - be they vegan, vegetarian, carnivore or a child! Freshest salads and fruits, hot  dishes, desserts to die for, a bread table that nearly finished me off (bread is a failing of mine!), pizza and chips - we never, ever, struggled to fill our plate, whatever meal time it was.  And inevitably all of our plates were cleared by adults and children alike.  The pancakes with chocolate sauce are a must - by day three hopefully the kids will have tired of them (mine didn't) - as is the freshly squeezed orange juice - which takes an age but the girls loved preparing it!

You have the option of more formal al a carte dining with a choice of three menus - kebab, fish or oriental - all were excellent - the children were served efficiently so they didn't lose the plot and we could enjoy our meal whilst they milled around - on a balmy eveing with a glass of chilled wine it was very, very good!

The Spa

It makes me tingle thinking of it!  What we should have done is booked a Turkish scrub to prepare our skin for the sun when we first arrived (next time it will be scheduled in) - what we did instaead is have a relaxing and aroma-therapy massage - and I nearly fell over when I left the room after mine - my legs had gone - I have NEVER felt as relaxed and de-stressed as when Mehmet had finsihed pummeling my body and tugging my arms out of their sockets - it was HEAVEN!!!  So Turkish scrub first day - relaxing massage day three, five and seven - at least!

Things To Do

The entertainment staff keep everyone busy. Be as active or relaxed as you want - there are tons of sun-loungers, choose the busy pools, the quiet family pool, the adults only pool - a shaded tree or the beach.  The beach is great though the waves were too string for my girls.

The kids club is a definite option for younger children - Eve aged 10 felt too old.  It is a God send when the heat kicks in as the area is all sheltered and the kids kept busy. Aggie went a couple of times because she wanted to - but this place is so child-friendly it's much nicer to have them around!

There is tons to do - archery, the golf range, tennis, pool games, yoga and pilates to name a few.  In the evening the bar aea is buzzing, the kids have a mini-disco, there's music playng and a show every evening in the open-air theatre at 10 - our girls managed to see each one!

Days Out

I anticipate that many never actually leave the resort - certainly the entertainments team work at keeping everyone occupied - the Olympics were hilarious!

We ventured out to Side and have a shop - it's a lovely place with many shops, excellent restaurants and The Temple of Apollo at the end of the street - it's almost surreal that such an amazing monument should be found so - do go to see it. The imitation luxury goods are a fraction of the price here too - handbag heaven if you don't mind a rip off!

The Aspendos Theatre is awesome.  With a seating capacity of 20k it was built by the architect Zenon in the 2nd Century and is the best-preserved ancient theatre to date.

Otherwise you can find any outdoor activity you might fancy - there are six excellent golf courses, a river to go raft along, water-ski-ing, mountain climbing - just ask!

We had a fabulous time - nothing to do except wander where to eat next, what to play, what to drink - coming from or frantic house it was a dream.  Practically if you have younger children who need quiet to sleep ask for a room at the back of the hotel or else in a bungalow further away from the main hub.
