Sitting on the decking overlooking the picturesque rolling countryside, listening to the happy chattering of the little ones playing, it would be hard to imagine a more perfect location.  Smallicombe Farm, set in 70 acres of pasture and ancient woodland, sits nestled in an idyllic valley near Honiton and offers a wonderfully peaceful and secluded base to explore the delights of East Devon. It’s family run and has fantastic facilities for babies, toddlers and children and parents.  There is “hands-on” experience with the farm animals for any budding young farmers.  Parents will relish the relaxing atmosphere, the blissfully happy children and the warm welcome and most of all the quality of the accommodation.  Choose to stay in the Gold award en-suite bed and breakfast or any of the 4 star self-catering cottages; the largest of which can sleep a family of 6.

The Farm and meet the Farm Animals

This is a fantastic place for children. The owners are keen for little ones to help with feeding the farm animals, if they show an interest. The farm is renowed for its prize winning Rare Breed pigs. The pigs farrow throughout the year, which means that there are usually litters of cute piglets, which are a delight to all. Lambing takes place at Smallicombe in February, where you easily spot newborn lambs and their mums. Enjoy picking a freshly laid egg for your breakfast from the resident hens and become aquainted with the resident sheep, cows and ducks

You'll have the chance to roam in the woodlands and spot rare wildlife in their native habitat. Roe deer can often be seen in the morning and early evening grazing in the fields on the edge of the woodlands.

Child Friendly Facilities

Excellent facilities for families include the loan of cots, highchairs, toys/books for children. An early tea is offered to children if staying in B&B. The B&B accommodation even has a fridge and microwave which is ideal for warming baby/toddler meals. There is a lovely play area for little ones, which you are able to keep an eye on them from the newly installed decking area complete with those amazing views.

Explore Devon and the Jurassic Coast

Smallicombe Farm benefits from a very quiet and peaceful location but it is also not too far from the coast and some excellent days out. Honiton and the Jurassic coast are close by and you’ll have the chance to explore the regency town of Sidmouth and enjoy Lyme Regis famous for the French Lieutenant’s Woman film, which was nominated for five academy awards.  Smallicombe makes an ideal base to explore this lovely part of Devon, you’re sure to discover a wealth of family friendly local attractions including Pecorama, Donkey Sanctuary and Seaton Tramway nearby.
