Heather-clad moors and woodland valleys abound in central England's Peak District National Park. Visit The Heights of Abraham in Matlock - a Georgian estate that provided savage gardens via paths from the valley up to Masson Hill. Since 1989 however there's no need to walk as the cable cars will carry you to the summit during which time you'll get to see the Derwent Valley in all its glory. The cable car rides, adventure playgrounds and beautiful grounds will delight all ages. Our self-catering child-friendly cottages are the perfect base to enjoy this glorious part of Britain with Matlock Bath, Bakewell (don't forget to try an infamous Bakewell Tart) and the lovely spa town of Buxton providing theatre, excellent restaurants and shopping when you've had enough of off-road exploring. Alton Towers is a short drive away for adrenaline junkies.
