Eight award-winning ground-floor cottages, sleeping 2-8 people, with a new indoor heated swimming pool, underfloor heating, wood burners, and also a private hot tub in each garden's patio; providing fun for all the family. Nestled on a hillside in the South Downs National Park, within easy reach of the South coast and London it is the perfect place for families, as the owners of Wallops Wood Cottages happily provide a complimentary package for young children and babies. The owners have thought of everything to cater for families, including those with 4 legged friends!

Wallops Wood

Surrounded by glorious countryside the contemporary self-catering holiday cottages offer a relaxing stay with stunning southerly views towards the South Downs. Located in the beautiful Meon Valley, it is the ideal place to recharge those batteries and enjoy wide variety of activities from glorious country walks and farmer’s markets to coastal strolls and water sports. In fact, it is perfect for multi-generational gatherings of friends or families with plenty of pleasant footpaths in the area, and lots of interesting places to visit locally.

Holiday Cottages with Hot Tubs

A short break or holiday in these delightful cottages offers all of what you would expect from a modern home.

The eight ground floor cottages offer a tasteful blend of contemporary style and modern comforts. With oak flooring and underfloor heating, woodburners and complimentary WiFi it is obvious these properties are finished to an excellent standard.

The cottages, which sleep 2-8 people, can be booked individually or as a group - up to 54 people excluding infant cots perfect for extended family get-togethers. Each cottage comprises of an open plan sitting/dining room and fully equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. All bedrooms are twin or super kingsize, with TVs and en-suite shower rooms and one communally accessible bathroom. Each cottage has books, DVD's and things to entertain the children.

A private enclosed patio even comes with a hot tub, where you can sit back and relax whilst taking in a fabulous panoramic southerly view across the Isle of Wight. There is a further large shared lawn where little ones can run around to their hearts delight.

Dogs are very much part of the family and are welcomed at Wallops Wood, who offer a welcome basket with complementary Kong toy, complementary tasty treats, blankets, bowls, laminated dog walks, poop bags and scoop and in the car park there is a thermostatically controlled shower to clean them up, upon returning form beautiful dog walks around the Meon Valley. There are even laminated dog walks with an OS map and a flashlight too!

Mobility Friendly

The self-catering cottages are cleverly designed to be able to accommodate guests with mobility restrictions, hearing and vision impaired, but without compromising on the comfort or aesthetic appeal. Each cottage is individually rated under the National Accessible Scheme each accessibility statement can be downloaded and printed from the owners website.

Child Friendly

Wallops Wood is family friendly at its finest...apart from the facilities and activities, the owners have thought of every detail to ensure it caters for families with children of all ages from moses baskets to travel cots; pottys to playpens; baby baths to bumbos; sterilizers to slow cookers...the list is endless.

The owners thoughtfully provide a wonderful service where families travelling with young children and babies can pre-book from a comprehensive list of age appropriate toys, books, board games and baby equipment to help with the ease of packing.

Supplementary packages can be booked including bicycle hire, babysitters and spa treatments. Either Katherine or Andrew always do a meet and greet with guests to ensure they have everything they need and they also contactable in the event that anything does go wrong. One of the benefits of living just down the road from the cottages.

Location and things to do

Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester are all within half an hour or so, together with glorious walks such as the Wayfarers Way, Itchen Walk and the South Downs Way, in addition to abundant road cycling and mountain biking utilising the climbs and descents of the Park. There are numerous attractions nearby, including Cathedrals, the Beaulieu Motor Museum, Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s Theme Park, Marwell Wildlife, Exbury and Sir Harold Hillier Gardens as well as renowned golf courses. There is plenty to keep your family  occupied for the duration of your stay, or relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.

Terms & conditions


Remittances must be made in £s sterling as set out in the invoice by one of the following methods:
cheque (made payable to Wallops Wood Ltd); bank transfer (sort code: 40-21-03 account number:
22072106); debit card; or credit card (which may incur an additional charge of 2%). Any charges
raised against Wallops Wood Ltd by a guest’s bank for handling dishonoured cheques, bank transfers
or other payments or shortfalls will be passed on to the guest.

The full balance of the total holiday cost is payable no later than 8 weeks before the date of
arrival. Reminders or receipts will not be sent unless requested. If the full balance is not paid on
time, we reserves the right to cancel the holiday booking, in which case the deposit will be forfeited.


A provisional booking shall be held for no longer than 48 hours (unless by agreement) and shall
become a firm booking when we have received a completed booking form and a deposit equal to
one third of the total amount.

A damages deposit of £250 will be required at the time of making the final payment (clause 7). This
will be refunded no later than 7 days after your holiday (subject to clause 16).

Check in & out

Check-in by the guest and their party is from 4pm onwards. Check-out should take place no later
than 10am on the day of departure. Earlier check-in or later check-out times may be agreed by prior
arrangement, but may not always be possible.

Cancellation policy

The guest remains liable for the final payment on the due date. Any failure to make such a payment
in full at that time will be treated as breach of contract. We strongly recommend Holiday
Cancellation Insurance.
