About Celtic Manor Resort Hotel

The Celtic Manor Resort can be spotted whilst crossing the Severn Bridge, guarding entrance over the gateway of Wales. Easy accessible from the M4, it is set in 1400 acres of panoramic parkland, in the beautiful Usk Valley. With unrivalled golf and Spa facilities for the grownups and a dedicated crèche for younger ones, The Celtic Manor Resort makes every effort to keep all members of the family entertained. Extra amenities are laid on for children in school holidays which are varied from sports activities to treasure hunts or simply chilling out with a favourite film.

The Celtic Manor sits rather grandly atop a hill with a commanding view over the Monmouthshire countryside and boasts a wide range of world class facilities. There are two hotels on this resort - the five star Resort Hotel and the historic 19th century Manor House. For families, you are most likely to stay in the Resort Hotel due to the room sizes and options.

On arrival at the Celtic Manor Resort you will be stuck by the sheer vastness of this luxurious hotel. The soaring atrium is dominated by carved Welsh Dragons and the enormity of this space adds to the feeling of grandness and luxury you would expect from a five star hotel. Located off to the right of reception you will find an arcade of shops which can deck Dad out in the latest golf clobber or Joules for the children. You will also discover a manned information desk dedicated especially for families. This is an extremely useful resource and can inspire you with ideas for family days out.

The family rooms are beautifully appointed and traditionally decorated with the added option of a balcony view. A family room features two double beds and can accommodate two adults and two children, plus a cot. The larger Grand Deluxe Family rooms are exceptionally spacious with two king-size beds, a double sofa bed, and yet more space for an extra child's bed if required. These rooms can comfortably accommodate two adults and up to four children plus a cot. You may however prefer the more spacious option of interconnecting rooms. Not only does this give you an extra bathroom but it gives them a TV of their own to enjoy! These rooms are available for a special rate but are limited in number.

As venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup, The Celtic Manor Resort offers some of the finest golf courses and facilities in the UK. With three Championship Golf Courses it truly is a haven for golfers.

The award-winning Forum Spa has 16 beautifully appointed treatment rooms offering a selection of the most innovative spa therapies from around the world and can be enjoyed by parents whilst the kids are being well looked after in the Hideaway Club.

The Hideaway Club is for children aged up to 11, where a fully qualified team will keep the young ones enthralled. There is a crèche for under 5's, a soft play area for children up to 8 and a games room for all ages. The Hideaway Club also offers a full programme of daily activities, which are themed to coincide with major holidays like Christmas and Easter. Activities include face painting, videos, drama and crafts, trips to local attractions, supervised swimming and games.

There is also a games room located at the Manor House which is open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. Here you will find lots of fun activities including air hockey, pool, table football and table tennis. For young ones, there is also an exciting sensory play area where you can explore to your heart's content.

There are generous dedicated times for family swimming which are twice daily so you are not conscious of shrieks and squeals spoiling other guests quiet swim time. Mountain bikes can be hired at a cost of £5 per hour and are an excellent way to explore the resort around the woodland trail.

If you are a foodie you certainly won't be disappointed with the choice of eateries. There are 6 restaurants to choose from which can accommodate a light lunch to a full scale delectable meal. The Crown is a three AA Rosette award-winning fine dining venue and is best savoured in a child free zone. Babysitting services can be arranged.
