Just off the Essex coastline, situated in the peaceful rural setting of Mersea Island, you will find Fen Farm Caravan and Camping site. Located by the sea, close to a country park it is the perfect destination for people wanting a quiet family retreat. A rural campsite, set in 20 acres where families are warmly welcomed with large spaces for kids to play and a childrens playground.The campsite is protected by well-established trees and hedges with plenty of room for tourers, tents or motorhomes of any size from March to October. Electric hook ups available, WiFi and enough space for you to pitch with friends or have your own privacy. The short walk down to the beach leads to a large grassed conservation area, with beautiful wild flowers in the Spring, and leads on to a long stretch of unspoiled beach, where you can walk undisturbed for miles in either direction.

Owned by The Lord Family since 1918, Fen Farm offers a warm and friendly welcome to their guests. The site caters for tents, trailer tents touring caravans and motor homes of any size and boasts award wining loos plus a laundry and shower block with solar powered water heating. There is also a family sized shower room with plently of space for parents to attend to little ones at shower time.

Awarded  the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award for working to protect the environment in and around the site – Fen Farm is popular with those wanting an Eco retreat.

The site’s proximity to the Essex marshes provides a unique and tranquil atmosphere, where kids can enjoy themselves without having to switch anything on or power up. There is a play area with swings, seesaws and climbing frames, plus plenty of wide open spaces to explore including a wonderful south facing beach within walking distance. There is a fenced lily pond with many koi carp and a tinkling waterfall, plus there is an open field for dog walks.

One of Britain’s best kept secrets Mersea Island is just 5 miles by 2 miles and has plenty to offer visitors. There is a museum, delightful shops, cafes and restaurants all surrounded by 12 miles of wonderful coastline. It’s ideal for those who enjoy sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and fishing or for kids to go crabbing in the creek. Colchester town centre is just 20 minutes drive away if you fancy  a spot of retail therapy. 

Cudmore Grove Country Park is a short walk, where an abundance of wildlife can be seen, and eight miles away is Fingringhoe Wick Nature Reserve. Mersea Island Vineyard and Brewery is just three miles away, too, where local wines can be sampled – and bought!

Close by is a foot ferry to Brightlingsea which is popular with visitors. Under an hour's drive takes you to Walton on the Naze, Frinton and Clacton, where many tourist attractions can be found, or take a trip to the busy town of Colchester, with its famous Zoo and sixteenth century Castle ruins, but you do not need to go far to enjoy a holiday on this lovely site as there are several pubs serving good food in close proximity. This site is ideal for the nature lover, wanting a peaceful and tranquil holiday.
