About Forest Glade Holiday Park

Nestled in the pine forest of the Blackdown Hills, Forest Glade is a 10 acre, attractive park offering 2 wooden pods and pitches for camping and caravans. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, near the Somerset border in rural Mid Devon it is handily located just off junction 28 off the M5. This four-star site has been family run for more than thirty years, and it shows in the thoughtful touches that have been added to make sure families have an enjoyable stay. Facilities include a covered outdoor pool a children’s adventure playground, tennis court, an indoor soft play area for young children together compliment the surrounding nature trails and woodland walks.

Forest Glade offers a holiday experience where you can get in touch with nature and the wildlife; a centrally based haven from where you can enjoy what Devon has to offer. Open during spring through to autumn, it’s ideal for families who wish to stay where there is no bar, no disco…and no bingo! However, there is an on-site shop for basic groceries, locally sourced produce, ice-creams/confectionery, a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks plus camping gas and equipment. There is also an evening takeaway food service with an extensive menu offering a break from cooking.

Child Friendly Campsite

The 16-acre site has 80 touring pitches, many with electric hook-ups and hard standings, which are suitable for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. For those who prefer a self-catering holiday there is a small collection of 25 holiday caravans, some of which are suitable for pets. There is also a separate camping field for those who like space and the freedom to pitch where they choose. Prices displayed for the campsite are per night for 2 adults, unit and car and children under 3 are free. Additional children are charged at £1.90 - £3.80 each per night depending on age.

Camping Pods

There are 2 camping pods available to hire and they sleep up to 4 people. Pods are a cosy, dry alternative to camping - you need to bring all your camping equipment except your tent and airbeds. Inside you will find a double and two single mattresses on the built in raised beds. Just think - no more putting the tent up and down in the wind/rain/dark! Facilities available for you to use include a campers' kitchen with microwave, toaster, kettle and sink. Prices displayed for pods include 2 adults and any children under 3. Additional adults and children between 4 and 18 years - £3.00 per night each.

Facilities for kids and parents

This four-star site has been family run for more than thirty years, and it shows in the thoughtful touches that have been added to make sure families have a fantastic stay, from the parent and baby rooms to the a huge play park with zip wire on site.

The free indoor heated pool and the adventure play areas keep the children amused for hours. There is also a sauna, all weather tennis court, area for ball games, a games room and an indoor soft play area for young children. There is a big field at the back of the campsite for kite flying and energetic games such as the family favourite Duck Duck Goose.

Wi-Fi is available, at a charge, and covers most of the main park as there is no 3G signal.

Mid Devon Location and Surrounding Area

Forest Glade is set in woods in the Blackdown Hills located just off junction 28 off the M5, surrounded by forest and wildlife. It's located right next door to a glider club, which are fascinating to watch. The site is a good hub to nearby towns such as Honiton, and places like Sidmouth and Exeter within an hour. One of the main attractions is the surrounding forest, which offers magnificent hillside walks with surprising views over the countryside and sightings of deer – if you are lucky. Families can always go and drive diggers at Diggerland, play crazy golf at Pecorama, or take a heritage tram ride on the Seaton Tramway.
