About Isles of Glencoe Hotel & Leisure Centre
The Isles of Glencoe Hotel is a relaxed, family-oriented hotel ideally located for exploring the Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and Fort William. The spectacular setting of this hotel, nestling on the side of the peninsula reaching out into Loch Leven really is something special and the distinctive Pap of Glencoe is visible from the hotel. The beautiful location is tranquil and peaceful, but the hotel still offers the kids loads of high-octane outdoor pursuits and a lovely swimming pool and leisure centre within the hotel.

One of the most dramatic places for scenery in Scotland is Glencoe.
On the west side of the glen, nestling on the side of the peninsula reaching out into Loch Leven (there are two in Scotland), is The Isles of Glencoe Hotel and Leisure Centre. The complex provides a relaxed, informal atmosphere ideal for family holidays in a lovely child-friendly setting.
The bedrooms are flexible, modern, comfortable and spacious with amazing views looking out over the Loch or up to the mountains of Morven, and many of them boast patio doors out onto the loch side. There's a range of family rooms to choose from, most having bunk beds for the kids (with some partitioned off within the room) and almost any family group combination can be catered for. Pets are welcome and although they do not have any rooms that are always kept pet free, they tell me they deep clean each room where a pet has stayed as part of their housekeeping on guest departure. Cots are available to hire and include fresh linen. Wifi is free and available in every room and throughout the hotel.
The hotel has an indoor heated leisure pool and leisure centre which is free to use for guests. Within the leisure centre you'll find a Hydro Seat, Bio-Sauna and a small exercise room (spin bike, running machine and Versa-climber). The leisure club facilities are open from 7am to 10pm but the last two hours of the day (8pm to 10pm) are set aside for grown ups only.
Dining is in the hotel's informal bar and lounge areas or in their Lochside restaurant. They use bookable timeslots for eating and I highly recommend you book a slot ahead each day and especially if you plan to arrive later in the day on your first night. Ask for a time slot when you make your reservation. High chairs are available and there's a separate kids menu.
Outdoors, Lochaber Watersports offer rib rides, yacht charters, canoeing, sailing, bike hire and more, all can be arranged through the Hotel. Within the grounds of the hotel there are lochside trails to explore and a small adventure playground. If you can't get outside because of the lovely Scottish rain, the hotel has a small stock of board games and puzzles as well as there being freeview TV in all the rooms.
The local area provides lots of attractions for families including walking, golf, fishing, beaches, boat trips and scenic drives. There's a seal sanctuary at Oban and The Cruachan Power Station known as ‘The hollow mountain'. Look out for the Natural History Centre, Ardnamurchan and Raceway Karting in Fort William too. A little further afield Skye and Inverness are all within a days drive. Oban is about 40 minutes away. www.discoverglencoe.com will give you more information.
