About North Hayne Farm

This place is just magical for children and perfect for parents to relax

North Hayne Farm is such a fantastic place for a young family to have an amazing and memorable time on holiday in North Devon. The 7 charming cottages, which sleep a family of 2 to 6 plus cots, are simply divine. Named after characters from Beatrix Potter, most of them have the added luxury of private hot tubs and there is a huge list of baby equipment available to borrow. The children’s farm on-site gives little ones the opportunity to feed the various friendly farm animals, collect freshly laid eggs and even take the goats out for a stroll. Free donkey rides are a daily event every morning! North Hayne Farm is incredibly autistic friendly with facilities to cater and a deep understanding to meet the needs of families. With an indoor play barn, a games room and lots of outside space to run around in, there is plenty at North Hayne Farm to keep active children happy!

North Hayne Farm is a fantastic holiday experience especially for families with young children as it presents youngsters with lots of hands on opportunities to get close to the friendly resident farm animals. Set in 10 acres of rolling pasture land in the heart of the peaceful valley of the river Yeo with far reaching views of Exmoor the farm is in a most idyllic location. North Hayne Farm has recently been awarded Silver by Visit Devon and are also a South West Finalist.

From the moment you bowl up in the car and arrive at North Hayne Farm you know you have picked a winner! Cheryl and Roger Dixon made a brave decision turning their back on previous successful careers to set up home amongst this lovely rural location in North Devon and guests here will be glad they did! It is obvious there has been a lot of hard work and effort lavished into the cottages and the owners thrive on ensuring a family holiday here is as near to perfect as it can be.

Child Friendly Holiday Cottages

Grouped around the attractive courtyard you will find 7 holiday cottages, all individually named after one of the characters from Beatrix Potters books. Each cottage has been tastefully converted from old farm buildings retaining many character features including exposed beams and latched doors. The cottages sleep between 2 and 6 people plus cots or booked together can accommodate a family party of up to 35 plus 7 cots!

Outside your front door you will find a handy wellie box - a fabulous idea for keeping all those muddy wellies stored neatly out of the way. And for the parents there are private hot tubs for 6 of the 7 cottages - a fabulous way to relax at the end of the day, under the stars, when the children are tucked up in bed.

The Children's Farm and Donkey Rides...

This excellent farm stay holiday is perfect for children who adore animals and also helps those who are less confident to become more so. The twice-daily animal feeding provides lots of opportunities for children to become acquainted with the resident animals. There are goats that like to be led on a lead around the paddock, alpacas, a pot bellied pig, bottle feed the lambs, ducks, collect eggs from the free range hens, cats, bunnies and guinea pigs to stroke. AND not forgetting the donkeys, who love giving free rides in the morning once the children have helped feed the animals. At the end of the stay the children will be presented with a certificate and a photo to remind them of happy times at the farm.

Facilities at North Hayne Farm

As well as the animals, there is the fantastic indoor play barn, which is a brilliant recent addition, testament to Rogers's handy man skills.
