About River Valley Holiday Park
River Valley Holiday Park is a quiet and relaxed family camp-site on the banks of the River Winnick in Cornwall and just a short drive from Pentrewan, one of Cornwall’s fabulous beaches. With child friendly facilities including an indoor swimming pool, outdoor play area and a games room the children will be happily occupied here and enjoy the freedom of exploring this lovely park giving you a chance to appreciate your lovely surroundings. The local, Polgooth Inn, is a 15 minute walk away and is perfect for a meal out after a busy day.
At River Valley you’ll find a combination of 40 holiday homes and touring and 45 spacious pitches for tents and touring vans.
Holiday Homes: All of the holiday homes are excellently maintained and offer all mod cons. Each sleeps 4 to 6 with a lounge and dining area, well-equipped kitchen and two bedrooms and a shower room. Each has its own lawn and picnic table to make it simple to enjoy the Cornish weather. A selection are dog-friendly too.
Pitches: Each pitch is hard-standing with its own lawn – one far better manicured than mine at home! Each is supplied with electric hook up for those used to more creature comforts. The cost includes a pitch for 2 people (placed on the hard-standing) and space for 1 car.
Pitch sizes are 6m x 6m – alternative larger pitches are available if required.
On Site Facilities
Heated shower block, laundry room, ice packs, indoor pool, games areas - River Valley is a cosy site but facilities are aplenty. The heated shower block is one of the best I’ve come across – it’s immaculate (most important!) with piped music and fresh flowers that make the middle of the night visits a little less tedious. A disabled wet room is available as is a family bathroom complete with a bath – come what may those kids can get clean.
The laundry room has washing machine and dryers, irons and ironing boards. Along with a bookcase full of books to immerse yourself in whilst waiting.
The on-site shop stocks a range of essentials, including daily papers as well as ice-packs which in our experience are ALWAYS needed! Supermarkets are literally 5 minutes up the road – if you really want to avoid the shops a supermarket drop off can be arranged.
For the Kids:
There’s the heated indoor pool for everyone to splash about – sun-bathing is also possible on the poolside patio. The outdoor pay area has a zip slide, climbing frames and swings along with an age-appropriate area for toddlers to climb about. The indoor games room houses the pool tables and a selection of arcade games – perfect for wet weather days – or some teenage space if the tent gets too cramped!
River Valley welcomes dogs – which must be kept on the lead at all times. Dogs may be walked along the marked trails or in the close by woods. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Alison has compiled a list of local beaches, pubs and designated walks that are dog-friendly – along with a vast array of places to visit with children.
