About The Belfry Hotel & Resort
Slap bang in the middle of the country (or thereabouts) The Belfry is a 500 acre family centred and child friendly hotel retreat. Just 20 minutes from Birmingham’s centre and only 10 minutes from the airport this place is easily accessible - and the sooner you get there, the sooner you can unwind. The Belfry is perfect for families scattered across the country to holiday together, or to grab a quick weekend away with the kids and escape increasingly busy lives!
Renowned for its internationally acclaimed golf course The Belfry has added a little family fun for all with the Ryder Legends Mini Golf course - kids get a complimentary round during their stay. Either consider this a gauntlet for golfing parents to show off their skills - or else one of you can hit the grownup course whilst the battle for mini-golf title occurs.
A purse friendly aspect is that Rocca’s Brasserie - a more relaxed dining out option - offers complimentary meals for children eating with their parents.
With a combination of Signature, Superior and Suite options The Belfry has lots of options combining doubles, twins and double doubles! The spacious Signature family rooms can be configured as you need with extra beds or a cot- baby changing mats, nappy bins, bay baths and bottle warmers are all available on request. Room service will deliver warm milk as a matter of course. Some of the double rooms can accommodate an additional cot or extra bed. The Sutes are stunnign and can accommdate two additional children. To splurge Brabazon Lodge provides accommodation to share with four fabulous en-suit bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, a private lounge overlooking the Lodge’s private garden and decking and its own luxurious hot tub.
With three restaurants to choose, including al a carte, feeding the rabble is not difficult. As mentioned Rocca’s Brasserie offers complimentary kids meals when adults dine - pizza and pasta are always a hit and are sure to take the stress of getting calories inside little ones after a busy day. The Ryder Grill serves an al a carte menu based around steaks, char-grilling, fish and lobster and is most definitely an option if you fancy a meal out together with baby-sitting arranged via the hotel. The Ryder Kitchen is a three course buffet based restaurant where you can help yourself to freshly prepared dishes in a more casual environment.
Things to Do
The Ryder Course Mini-golf is going to be a winner with kids of all ages. The Woodland Walk experience is interactive and encourages children to explore our great outdoors. Further there is heaps of space including a large playing field where the kids can race about freely with the options of playing football/rugby or rounders in their zone without fear of reprisal! For younger children aged between 8 weeks an Ofsted Creche is available (at extra cost) for children to be entertained whilst perhaps Mum and Dad enjoy some grownup time - the obvious distractions being the golf courses or the fantastic Spa.
Talking of which The Spa is a noteable indulgence and should be tested out. Seeing ESPA is always a pull for me personally - seeing the Age Defying facial and Purva Karma massage, with two masseurs working on invigorating and getting rid of my tensed up bits suggests that I might not make the mini-golf!!!
Close by family favourite Drayton Manor provides animal and park distraction, whilst the National Sea Life Centre is perfect for rainy days in the city - it’s also a perfect pay off after a morning’s shopping around the brilliantly revamped centre.
Family packages are available that include access to Drayton Manor, as well as to Cadbury’s World - two family days out sounds about perfect to me - with a third milling around the hotel doing as little as possible!
