About Wardley Hill Campsite
Wardley Hill campsite is like a tale of two fields; ecological car free camping one side and glamping on the other. Whichever side you pick the children will love the Norfolk fresh air, the getting back to basics and open space aplenty. Stream jumping, den building and bug hunting will keep them occupied for hours. No order, no regime - pitch your tent where you fancy, or unpack in your glamping domain and get on with your family break.
You are in Norfolk Broad territory, which is a beautiful water wonderland. Just a mile away from the River Waveny, catch a boat and go all Wind in the Willows - look for otters, Marsh Harriers and glroious Kingfishers. The towns of Diss, Bungay and Beccles are very close by; all offer something to do for the children with parks, aviation museums, castles, railways, woodlands, water parks and rivers to choose from. Or you can take advantage of your back to nature campsite, let the day unfold and enjoy whatever happens to come your way.
Bring your tent and pitch in the meadow amongst the wildflowers: there are 15 grass camping pitches available along with 4 campervan pitches. For those who want to start their holiday with no pitching involved you have several options ranging from a bell tent to a suspended tree tent - I know!
Lotus Tent (sleeps 2): you can sky gaze during the day or stargaze at night - ask your hosts to help. A small gas stove, kettle and a selection of teas and coffee, a wind up torch and clock , two mugs and two glasses with a bottle opener are provided. Two chairs, a firebox and bbq are available for outside. Guests have full use of the campsite facilities
Emperor Bell Tent (sleeps 4): one double bed and two single beds. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided along with a bbq, washing machine drum fire pit, solar lighting and your bedding. There is full access to the sites facilities.
The Shepherd's Hut (sleeps 4): small but perfectly formed. Contains a double bed, a single and a bed settee, bedding supplied, a cast iron wood burning stove and kettle, sink with running cold water, electricity, lighting and exclusive use of a separate composting toilet with a stable door and view of the neighbouring field.
The Hammock Hut (sleeps 2): swing yourself gently off to sleep in the knowledge that if it rains you’re not going to get wet because you’re under cover. There are two hammocks suspended from the ceiling. Bring your own bedding. It is equipped with a small gas stove, mugs and complimentary tea and coffee and an outdoor fire drum. If the hammocks aren't to your taste there is space for a double inflatable bed.
Suspended Tree Tent (sleeps 2): it's just that, a tent suspended between the trees, access via the rope ladder. The tent only is provided so remember to bring all your camping gear, including bedding.
Wardley Hill Campsite is all about camping with an eco approach. There is plenty of space with a recreational field to get involved in family games; invite your neighbors for a game of cricket.
Three clean composting toilets, a urinal and an open air hot shower are available. There are drinking water points all around the campsite. Fires are allowed and positively encourages in the fire drums provided.
Friendly, well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
