Situated in peaceful corners of a working farm, and surrounded by rolling hills and magical woodlands, Aber Cottages has two fabulous properties to choose from. Bryniau Pell is a charming three-bedroom stone cottage. Downstairs you’ll find a bright and airy open-plan kitchen and living room, with homegrown oak floors and direct access to the lovely garden – ideal for keeping an eye (and ear!) on children playing outside. A woodburning stove keeps the space extra cosy for winter visitors. In the second living room the combination of a Smart TV, comfy sofas and electric aga wood-burner make it a great spot for family film nights. The first bedroom is located on the lower level; a double bedroom with original beams and oak furnishings can be set up as a super-kingsize double room, or twin. Its modern ensuite wet room has grab rails to aid guests with limited mobility. Upstairs there’s a double and a twin room, both with Welsh pine furniture, gorgeous wooden floors and excellent garden views. A sleek family bathroom has a bath and a shower over it, ideal for a soak after an adventure filled day. The nursery is furnished with a cot and cot bed for two little guests, as well as a starry blackout blind and double lined curtains, to ensure restful nights all round. There’s protective socket covers in the nursery, and a nightlight on the landing too. An extremely useful utility room with a washing machine and drier means you can keep on top of muddy clothes or baby bits whilst you’re away. There’s also a handy cloakroom with toilet and washbasin.
The three-bedroom Hill Cottage is a 17th century Welsh longhouse with loads of traditional character. The slate tiled entrance hall, with plenty of room for muddy boots, leads to an open plan kitchen-dining room. There’s a snug at one end with amazing views across to the Beacons. The spacious lounge oozes charm and comfort with traditional furniture, inviting sofas and a cosy wood burner. A spectacular garden room offers another place for guests to sit and unwind, with double doors that open onto a small but perfectly formed enclosed garden, surrounded by fields. This is a room to hide away in. Upstairs the three bedrooms are furnished in a traditional style with modern additions. There’s a small twin (normally made up as a single), a generous twin and a comfortable double room, with a cot. A large wetroom with a disabled toilet and grab rails is located downstairs.
