Cwmberach Uchaf Farm means ‘the upper valley of the river Berach’ in Welsh. The magical site covers 55 acres of wild beauty on the western side of the Brecon Beacons National Park. A stay here is like being in your own private 'Springwatch'. With one of the best views in Wales, friendly farm animals, luxurious tents and a National Park on your doorstep, this is THE campsite to stay in if you're visiting West Wales.

About this place

Best bits

  • Kids will love meeting the resident farm animals that include unusual sheep breeds like the Badger Faced Welsh Mountain!
  • The fabulous play area is a hit with little ones. Plus the play barn offers hours of entertainment if the Welsh weather takes a turn for the worse...
  • Waking up to a breathtaking view over the Brecon Beacons.

Top tips

  • Each tent has its own wood burning stove, and the wood is already provided.
  • Bring your swimming gear. There are some fabulous, if cold(!) lakes nearby that make for great wild swimming spots.
  • Pack your walking and wet weather gear. There are miles of beautiful routes to walk; don't let the British weather stop you!

Our gorgeous farm, located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, is home to us, our two kids and our dog, Tilly. The farm has been in the family for several generations, so it's fair to say we know the area well. We are passionate about rewilding, whilst still maintaining a productive, working hill farm – and we love to show off our efforts! Come and enjoy our beautiful site; perfect for an off-grid relaxed holiday with views that are hard to beat.

Owner recommendations

  • Ask our advice on the best hikes in the National Park. There are routes for all ages and abilities.

  • Spend an afternoon in Llandeilo, a lovely old market town with boutiques and cafes only a few miles away.

  • Let the kids imaginations run wild at Carreg Cennen castle which can be reached via a beautiful five mile walking route over the Brecon Beacons.

  • Explore by hoof! Try pony trekking at Pentre Riding Stables.

  • In the unlikely event you don't spot a red kite over the farm, there's a feeding station at Llandddeusant that little nature lovers will love.
