Where is it and how do you get there?

By road

Drovers Rest is around 40 minutes from Hereford, and a 10 minute drive from Hay-on-Wye.

By air

Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff airports are all just under two hours from Drovers Rest.

By rail

Hereford station is 40 minutes drive from the site, with direct trains to Manchester and Birmingham.

Local things to do, places to eat and attractions not to be missed.

  • Head to Hay-on-Wye for wonderful boutiques, antique emporiums and cafes- as well as the famous bookshops of which there are over 30!

  • For more outdoor adventures take a look at Black Mountain Activities where you can climb, cave, abseil and shoot amongst other things.

  • Go for a magical ride on horseback through the Brecon Beacons with Trans Wales Trails.

  • Hire canoes for a wonderfully gentle day on the River Wye.

  • Hay is great for walking – try Hay Bluff or Sir Hereford’s Knob for spectacular views, or paddle in the river at The Warren.
