Tucked away in the Welsh Hills, Drovers Rest's organic farm is a magical place for families and groups to relax and embrace rural life. Safari tents are so luxurious that they are more akin to a canvas cottage than camping. Loads of farm activities and food options will keep you entertained and fuelled, and the gorgeous Hayloft is the perfect place to come together for drinks or a game of table tennis. Days out are a cinch too with Hay-on-Wye and the Brecon Beacons close by.

About this place

Best bits

  • The stunning communal barn has to be seen to be believed and has loads of options to keep youngsters busy on wet weather days.
  • Foodie heaven with catered evening meals cooked on open fires and scrummy breakfast options.
  • Dogs are VERY welcome – they’ll love long walks in the Brecon Beacons and cosying up by fireplaces in the cafes and pubs of Hay-on-Wye.

Top tips

  • Tents sleep up to four but ask about additional arrangements if you need to accommodate an extra child.
  • Communal gatherings are a big part of the experience at Drovers Rest - but there’s always space to have some quiet family time.
  • Pack old clothes, wellies and waterproofs to make the most of your time on the farm.

The attention to detail here is fab and nothing is too much trouble. Highly, highly recommended, in fact we have already booked another seven night stay as four nights just wasn't long enough!
