About this place

Best bits

  • Guests love the huge lounge and the cosy snug, offering a space for sociable and silly games nights, or tucking up for a movie night in front of the smart TVs.
  • Unwind in the giant outdoor hot tub, complete with jets, lights and music.
  • There’s so much space for the kids and dogs to be truly free range, far away from any roads. Plus lots of outdoor seating where parents can relax whilst keeping an eye on them.

Top tips

  • Remember to pack swimwear for the hot tub, the nearby leisure centre (a great rainy day activity) and wild swimming spots for those that can brave cold waters.
  • Don’t forget your wellies and coats for exploring the farm and surrounding hills whatever the season and weather.
  • Slippers are a great idea to keep feet cosy and warm on the hard floors downstairs

About the owners

Maaike Dawson

Woodend has been my partner's family farm for over 60 years. It's a slice of heaven and I truly love it here. We have such a beautiful community and it's lovely to spend my days surrounded by nature and animals. I originally worked within the small onsite events venue, but have happily taken on responsibility of running Woodend Farmhouse Stays. In my spare time, I love riding my horses and am always happy to recommend one of the good nearby riding schools.

Owner recommendations

  • Step back in time as you explore Eastnor Castle and its picturesque grounds, complete with adventure playgrounds, woodland trails, a maze and family-friendly seasonal events.

  • Discover nature trails, refreshing wild swimming spots, vibrant artisan markets and a welcoming café serving organic treats at The Fold community farm in Bransford.

  • Brave the heights with exhilarating high ropes, climbing walls, aerial challenges and adventure courses at Cheltenham’s 270 Climbing Park.

  • Water babies should head to Malvern Splash – a lively leisure centre with wave machines, water slides and a large pool.

  • Adventure-seekers should explore the scenic River Severn on canoeing and kayaking tours, or try fun-filled activities at Boundless Outdoors with zip wires, climbing, abseiling and team challenges.

  • Relaxed, peaceful outdoor fun can be had fruit picking at Clives Fruit Farm, with a farm shop and café to complete your visit.
