Top tips

Glamping is a brilliant way to sample what the camping bug is all about - you can buy all the equipment once you're hooked!
Hire a fire pit (included in furnished bells) and buy logs from the shop to enjoy a night under the stars, toasting marshmallows.
Be sure to pack wellies and walking boots so the kids can splash in muddy puddles if the unpredictable British weather takes a turn!

Rooms

For fuss-free camping with a touch of luxury, Lathe Barn’s glamping tents are the perfect treat for a rural trip away. There are 15 furnished bell tents and 6 part unfurnished, sleeping up to six people (max 4 adults). Fully furnished tents have all the equipment you need for up to 4 people for a stress free camping break or part furnished, that spares you the hassle of pitching a tent, but allows you to bring and use all of your own equipment (you will need to provide extra if there are more than 4 people staying).

Stay in either the part-furnished (dog friendly) or fully furnished bell tent. Each 5m x 5m furnished bell has a porch on the front, is fully carpeted, and decorated with fairy lights and bunting for a magical glamping experience. Parents can tuck into a comfortable double bed while kids sleep tight on two small futon beds, all with fresh bedding. None of the bell tents have an electric supply, but phones, cameras etc can be charged at the campsite shop. Come ready to unplug and unwind.

There is no compromise on comfort at Lathe Barn camping either! Enjoy plenty of spotless facilities including hot, powerful showers, a large, clean toilet block, pot-washing facilities, a well-stocked onsite shop, plus catering at the onsite kitchen and bar! Friendly Fallow Fields staff are on hand to make your stay as stress-free and enjoyable as possible, all you need to bring is your camping gear and this fun-filled site will take care of the rest.

Eat

The furnished bell tents come with all the cooking equipment you could need – crockery, pans, wine glasses, cooking utensils and a washing up bowl. You’re supplied with a one ring gas cooker for outdoor use too. Barbecues and campfires are welcomed, and kids will love helping stoke the fire and keeping an eye on the burgers.

You can pick up supplies at the onsite shop. There are camping basics, local meat and produce, fresh coffee and ice-block freezer – for refreezing blocks and keeping your drinks ice cold. If you fancy a night off cooking, the farm’s catering unit, The Marsh Kitchen & Bar serves up delicious food during busy periods, mostly Friday and Saturday nights and breakfasts on Saturday and Sundays. Pre-book to avoid disappointment. Serving up barista coffees, teas, cold juices, and pastries, it’s the perfect place to start the day. For a light bite at lunch, stop by for a sausage roll or panini and be sure to treat the kids to an ice cream, waffle, or cake while you settle down over a board game. Wi-Fi is available here so you can catch up on the outside world or just enjoy the views over Lympne, your well behaved pooches are welcome too! The fully licensed bar is the perfect stop-off at the end of the evening to enjoy a friendly, community atmosphere before heading back to the tent for a warming evening campfire.

Eat

Camping basics are available on site at the camp shop plus local meat and produce, fresh coffee, snacks, and ice-block freezers for refreezing blocks to keep you and your drinks nice and cool in the summer season. Activities

There is always lots going on at Fallow Fields so your little ones will never be bored. They can enjoy access to an indoor kids soft play area, Baarney’s Play Barn, which has plenty of interactive toys to keep the kids entertained whatever the weather! Soft play sessions are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays and run twice a day in the morning and at midday. There’s also a reading nook, chalk boards, table tennis, and table football for the older kids. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, children’s soft play parties are available to book too, get in touch to organise catering and decorations!

You can also book onto the on-site activities including bushcraft sessions where kids can try their hand at archery, axe throwing, fire lighting and den building! Outdoor games are always a hit too with giant chess, badminton, and swing ball at the ready. The kids can even arrange a mini table tennis tournament to keep them entertained while you enjoy a moment of peace. For ultimate relaxation, check out the yoga classes timetable. Suitable for all ages, it’s the perfect way to unwind and embrace the outdoors. Kids are always welcome to bring their bikes, there are plenty of communal play areas and routes within the campsite so they needn't venture too far. For kids that prefer to stay closer to camp, they can enjoy arts & crafts activities and tap into their creative side. During school holidays you can expect extra activities like cinema nights, wine tasting (only for the grown ups!) and even welly-wanging - fun for all!

Fallow Fields is a great base for exploring the Kent coast, with Dymchurch seafront only 2 miles away. Soak in the stunning views of Lympne Castle and don’t forget to visit Port Lympne Safari Park, the perfect family day out only 10 minutes away; some even say you can hear the lions roar at night from your tent!

We are a family focused campsite with lots to keep the kids busy so parents are kept happy too. We opened Fallow Fields back in 2016 and have been growing ever since. We pride ourselves on being able to make camping fun and simple. Sit back with pizza and a campfire while the kids watch a film in our safari tent.
