Accessibility

The yurts are situated on a sloping field which is unsuitable for wheelchair use. There are steps leading into the yurt which is completely level internally. Car park area is gravel.

Where is it and how do you get there?

By sea

Access the Isle of White via the Red Funnel ferry (Southampton) or Wightlink ferry (Portsmouth or Lymington).

By road

Kids Love Yurts is less than 10 minutes' drive from Newport, the principal town of the Isle of White.

By rail

There are a number of stations on the island including Newport and Haven Street, both less than 10 minutes drive away.

By air

Southampton airport is approximately 1hr 45 minutes drive from the site.

We wanted our yurts to be child-friendly, and so asked our own children to design them!

Tips from the owners

Local things to do, places to eat and attractions not to be missed.

  • No trip to the island would be complete without a day playing, swimming and fossil hunting on one of the award winning beaches.

  • Visit Dinosaur Isle and learn about the islands diverse geology, watch archaeologists at work and see dinosaurs up close!

  • Needles Park is a magnet for families, where you can enjoy amazing geology, a cable-car chairlift down the cliffs, and a range of family attractions along the clifftop site.

  • Tapnell Farm is a great day out for all ages, with play areas, archery, clay pigeon shooting, a fab on-site restaurant as well as farm animals, wallabies and meerkats to meet.

  • Robin Hill Country Park has rides, slides, adventure and treetop play areas, all set in 88 acres of beautiful countryside.
