There are 11 lovely cottages at Luccombe, traditional in style and generous in comfort and facilities. Sleeping from two to seven guests, you’re sure to find a cottage fit for your family with accessible accommodation options and six pet-friendly units so you can holiday with your furry family members. On arrival, you will find a complimentary starter pack of toiletries and towels to make your load a little lighter!
Each cottage has its own tale to tell with bundles of character and original features but there are no shortages of modern comforts with open plan living spaces. All complete with cosy sitting areas ready to embrace you after long days of exploring and fully-equipped kitchens and dining spaces perfect for entertaining. Fully furnished with sofas, armchairs, and TVs, the cottages will feel like a home away from home so you can focus on the things that matter.
The Granary
The Granary is a 200-year-old dog-friendly cottage sleeping two people plus one child using an ottoman in the bedroom. It was originally a working granary (hence the name) which could store up to 12 tonnes of corn for the farm. Sitting on its original oak and timber staddle stone supports, the cottage still has plenty of character and retains the charm of yesteryear so you can still feel the essence of its original function woven into the historic fabric of the farm. Set over two floors, the ground floor is bright and airy with large Georgian windows in the sitting room and kitchen. Upstairs, there is an en-suite double bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed, an ottoman suitable for a child and space for a cot if you are travelling with a baby or toddler. The Granary also features its own private terrace at the entrance where you can enjoy your morning tea or coffee in the sunshine!
The Cake House
The Cake House sleeps up to four people between one king and one twin bedroom plus it's dog-friendly! The 150 year old cottage was originally used to store cow feed, which is where the name derives from. The single storey accommodation has heaps of character with its beautiful brickwork and old beams. It’s perfect for guests who have difficulty with stairs or are visiting with toddlers. You’ll be sure to love the fantastic south-facing views which overlook the small lake along with the private terrace where you will find a table and chairs to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner outside in the fresh air. The king-size bedroom has a door leading out to the garden so you can enjoy the morning hum of the birds before the kids wake from the second bedroom, furnished with twin beds. There is also space for a cot (which can be supplied) in the main bedroom.
The Stables
As you might have already guessed, The Stables is Luccombe’s 150-year old three-bedroom single-storey cottage used to be home to the farm’s horses. The dog-friendly cottage can sleep five to seven people between three bedrooms and comprises an open-plan sitting room and fully equipped kitchen with a sliding door to separate the space. There is one king bedroom, one twin room, and one triple bedroom furnished with a single bed and bunk beds which the kids will love having a sleepover in!
The Stalls
The Stalls might be 150 years old, but it’s been converted to a very high standard so that you can enjoy a comfortable and relaxed stay. The original construction of brick, flint and slate still exists, as well as the original wood beams, but the rest of the accommodation has been refurbished with plenty of modern comforts. Sleeping up to four guests, it can be booked together with The Tackroom next door with its interconnecting door (blocked when not in use). This is the perfect scenario if you are staying in a larger group and want to be able to have your extended family or friends close by but with your own private space when you need it. The accommodation is set over two floors and comprises an open plan sitting room and fully equipped kitchen. Both of the bedrooms feature skylight windows and the main bedroom is furnished with a comfortable king-size bed while the second bedroom has twin beds.
The Tackroom
The Tackroom is the adjoining accommodation to The Stalls which can sleep up to four people if closed off or a larger group of eight if opened up. Also 150 years old, the cottage has been renovated to create a comfortable and relaxing environment for your family while still retaining many of the building’s original, charming features. The two-storey accommodation comprises a sitting room and open-plan fully fitted kitchen with large dining table. The sitting room is furnished with a sofa and two armchairs. Both of the bedrooms feature skylight windows. The master bedroom is furnished with a comfortable king-size bed and the second bedroom is furnished with twin beds.
Atlantis
Atlantis is situated above Mintern Barn, along with Monopoly. Access is via outside steps and there is a gate at the top. Sleeping up to four people, it is in-keeping with Luccombe’s other holiday cottages, its interior combining traditional features with modern home comforts. All carefully planned to create a cosy atmosphere to help you enjoy a relaxing time. The single-storey accommodation comfortably sleeps two in the king-size double bedroom. There’s also an ottoman in the bedroom suitable for a child. Two more guests can sleep on the sofa bed in the sitting room as well (surcharge applicable).
Monopoly
Situated above Mintern Barn, Monopoly (along with Atlantis) is accessed via the outside steps and there is a gate at the top. Also sleeping up to four people, the cottage has been designed to create a cosy atmosphere so you can enjoy relaxing family time. The single-storey accommodation comfortably sleeps two in the king-size double bedroom plus there is a single bed in here. A further two guests can be accommodated using the sofa bed in the sitting room (surcharge applicable).
The Old Sty
The Old Sty was once the humble abode of Luccombe’s pig ‘Prudence’ who has since moved out for renovations to create a cosy cottage base for families. The 150-year old building still has many of its original features with some upgraded comforts. Sleeping up to four guests, the single storey accommodation is ideal for guests who have difficulty with stairs and is also dog-friendly. The two bedroom cottage also features wide doorways and lever taps and comprises an open-plan kitchen/living room with plenty of space to rest and recline after a day’s adventures and access straight out to the garden. The main bedroom features a comfortable double bed and patio doors that lead out to the garden while the second bedroom is furnished with twin beds perfect for the kids.
Blossom Cottage
Named after one of Luccombe’s well-loved, friendly cows, Blossom Cottage sleeps two to four people and is a single storey accommodation. One of the newer cottages, Blossom still has an authentic farmhouse feel with traditional features. It comfortably sleeps two in a king-size bedroom with a shower room and an option for two further guests to sleep on the sofa bed in the sitting room. Comprising an open-plan living/kitchen, Blossom Cottage can also be connected with Lavender Cottage by an interconnecting door (blocked when not in use) for larger group bookings.
Lavender Cottage
Lavender Cottage is named in loving memory another of Luccombe’s favourite resident cows. The single storey holiday cottage comfortably sleeps two in the king-size double bedroom (with shower room) and two extra guests on the sofa bed in the sitting room. Complete with an open-plan kitchen and sitting area, there are plenty of comforts for a home-away-from-home feel. Lavender Cottage can be connected to Blossom Cottage to accommodate larger group trips so you can have friends and family close by but your own private space when you need it.
Turnip Cottage
Turnip Cottage was lovingly named after a cow by the name of Turnip who refused to drink milk from just a few weeks old and would only eat turnips. It is a single storey accommodation that comfortably sleeps two people in the king-size bedroom and can sleep an added two guests on the sofa bed in the sitting room. Complete with a spacious yet cosy open-plan kitchen and living room, there’s also a shower room with walk-in shower, washbasin, and toilet.
