River Valley Holiday Park is a quiet and relaxed independent caravan park, on the banks of the River Winnick and just a short drive from Pentrewan, one of Cornwall’s fabulous beaches. With great child friendly facilities, including a pool, the kids will be happily occupied exploring this lovely park, giving you the chance to relax and appreciate the lovely surroundings. Hard-standing tourer pitches, as well as immaculate caravans, for a good old traditional seaside break, are available too.

Best bits

Some of the loveliest beaches in Cornwall are on your doorstep. And nothing in Cornwall beats a day at the beach!
The outdoor play area has a zip slide, climbing frames and swings along with an age-appropriate area for toddlers to climb about.
Heated shower block, laundry room, ice packs, indoor pool, games areas. River Valley is a cosy site but facilities are aplenty.

Top tips

Take a good book and relax. River Valley is an ideal place to get away from it all.
Book yourself and the kids onto a surf lesson on one of the north coast beaches.
Reserve a few pitches, holiday homes or a mix of both for extended family, or multi-generational holidays.

River Valley Holiday Park has 40 holiday homes and 45 camping pitches. The camping pitches are all hard-standing with their own well manicured lawn. Each is supplied with electric hook up for those after the comforts of home (a chilled glass of wine and well lit cooking area!)

Pitch sizes are 6m x 6m, but alternative larger pitches are available if required. The toilet block and laundry room are clean, warm and modern. The excellently maintained holiday homes sleeps four to six people in two comfortable bedrooms.

Eat

There is a lounge and dining area, well-equipped kitchen and shower room too. Guests can easily enjoy the Cornish weather on their own private lawn with a picnic table. A selection are dog-friendly too.

The holiday homes all boast well equipped kitchens to cater to all of your self catering needs. There is an onsite shop stocking a range of essentials, including daily papers. For luxury items, supermarkets are only five minutes up the road. Or if you’d rather avoid the shops, you can arrange a supermarket shop to be delivered upon your arrival. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the area too. Polgooth Inn is a 15 minute walk away and is perfect for a meal out after a busy day. Or head to the coast and enjoy a traditional Cornish fish and chips, always a hit with little ones.

Activities

There is loads to get up to onsite and in the surrounding area. Take a morning swim in the heated indoor pool, followed by a climb in that play area and a game of pool in games room. Then head off site for some surfing or a trek through the gorgeous countryside.

However, the rugged coastline and golden beaches are still the star attraction. Take your pick from sandy coves within walking distance to the wild surf-lashed beaches of the north coast just a short drive away.

We love The Lost Gardens of Heligan – over 300 acres of magical gardens and estate to explore.
Pentewan has over half a mile of east-facing sandy beach. This is a great beach for swimming, surfing, windsurfing and canoeing.
Book tickets for the renowned Minnack Theatre. Built in the 1920s by theatrical visionary Rowena Wade, you can watch a play with a breathtaking sea view backdrop.
Famous St Ives is well worth a day trip. Art lovers can visit the Tate St Ives, hundreds of small independent galleries and get inspired in a place many other artists have.
