Owner recommendations

  • Nearby riverside market town, Woodbridge, boasts a working tide mill, independent shops, fabulous ice cream parlour and beautiful river walks.

  • Take the kids crabbing at Walberswick and catch the little ferry to neighbouring Southwold for a stroll along the promenade and tour of Adnams Brewery.

  • Go back to the 12th century at Framlingham Castle, a magnificent fortress - much of it still standing.

  • Hire rowing boats, grab an ice cream and float around Thorpeness Meare for an hour or so, taking in the calm beauty of the water.

  • Experience the moody landscape of Dunwich Heath - legend says you can hear the tolling bells of a fallen church claimed by the sea.

  • Pony rides, lovely walks and feeding the animals at Easton Farm Park is great fun for everyone, just over 10 minutes drive away.

  • Walk along the coast from Thorpeness to Aldeburgh, admiring local public art on the way.
