By air

Leeds Bradford Airport is just over an hour away from Yew Tree Cottage.

By rail

Malton Station is a short taxi drive from the cottage, and has fast and regular connections with York.

By road

Westow village is just over half an hour from junction 44 of the M1, along the A64.

  • The National Railway Museum at York is a perfect day out for kids and big kids- grandparents especially love visiting with their families.

  • Eden Camp is a unique, multi-award winning modern history museum, taking you back in time to the period around WWII.

  • Flamingo Theme Park has wonderful rides as well as over 120 different species of wildlife.

  • Just a short distance from the cottage is Castle Howard, Yorkshire’s finest stately home and estate.

  • Harry Potter fans will love a trip to Goathland station which was used as Hogsmeade station in the films, plus there are some lovely walks around the area.

  • Take a scenic drive through the Esk valley to Robin Hood’s Bay - perfect for fossil hunting and fish and chips by the sea.

  • Head even further back in time and visit the time of the Vikings at JORVIK.
