About Gorsey Meadow

Gorsey Meadows is a small, safe site with lots of space to enjoy the great outdoors and glamping in the heart of the beautiful Norfolk countryside. The great thing about this campsite is there are only have five bell tents to book. So if there are a few of you wanting to camp together you can easily have exclusive use of the whole site and therefore children can explore freely and discover tree swings and the bug hotel. What a fantastic little oasis of calm, and it makes camping easy for the ultimate escape to recharge batteries. Who can resist toasting marshmallows around the firepits on an evening under a blanket of stars. With Norfolk's fabulous beaches just a short drive away, Marriott's Way cycle route, Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, Gressenhall Hall, Whitlingham Lake & water sports centre, there's lots to see and do. As a treat for the children Gorsey Meadows is just a five minute drive from the award-winning Dinosaur Adventure Park!

Surrounded by Holly and Oak woodland Gorsey Meadow is a magical place to stay with all kinds of nature to look out for. The meadow is literally down the private drive of Hockering House situated 300 yards from the house with fields between. Have a family glamping holiday, camping under the stars in one of their fabulous cosy Bell tents, or choose to camp in your own tent. Glamping is such an easy option in this idyllic location on this beautiful part in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. There are two fire pits with seating, an undercover area with BBQs, benches, tree swings and lots of space and fresh air to enjoy. Children will delight in the adventure of it all. Camping is a great opportunity for you to discover the benefits of being outdoors together as a family and reconnecting with each other. It allows you to get away from the constant interruptions of technology. No phones, computers or televisions mean your family can spend some quality time together without any screens getting in the way.

To Glamp or not to glamp

The bell tents offer a fabulous glamping experience for a family of up to 5 in each tent. The site only allows for a maximum of five luxurious bell tents, giving each tent plenty of space. Your accommodation will come with double mattresses and/or single quality air beds with excellent quality bedding, a double ring gas cooker with gas, crockery, cutlery, charcoal bbq, lantern, cool box and much more.

If you prefer to pitch your own tent at Gorsey Meadow then the peaceful private field awaits you, all you have to do is choose your spot! Availability of bring-your-own tent pitches are dependent on bell tent bookings and less likely in the school holidays and peak weekends. Campervans are also welcome.

Gorsey Meadow has a shower offering plenty of hot water and privacy but also in keeping with the environment. There is a separate loo and butler sink and a compost loo amongst the trees. Give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised! Eco soap and shampoo only please for the shower.  The meadow is off grid, there are no power points.

‘The Shop’ contains essentials to purchase such as Charcoal, fire lighters, matches, water and marshmallows for toasting.  ‘The Shed’ contains local tourism leaflets, books for adults and children to borrow and a few bits and bobs to help keep children occupied during your stay.
