About this place

Best bits

  • Kids will love the on-site play area, perfect for early morning climbs, making friends with fellow campers or burning off the last of that energy before bed.
  • Being right on the water. It adds a touch of adventure to the camping trip, makes for easy access when exploring the Broads by boat and is home to lots of brilliant wildlife – don’t forget your binoculars!
  • Lighting a campfire, toasting marshmallows, sharing stories and admiring the starry sky. Simple pleasures for all ages.

Top tips

  • Barbecues and fires are welcome, but must be raised off the ground. You can buy firewood on-site so no need to laden down the car with a load of logs!
  • Pick up delicious treats from home-baked goods to ice cream, plus tea and coffee from the on-site food vendor.
  • The site is dog-friendly, so all members of the family, including the four-legged ones, can join in the adventure.

About the owners

The Salhouse Broad Team

Listed since March 2023

Salhouse Broad is privately owned and cared for; your visit helps to fund the maintenance and conservation of this brilliant Broad landscape. The team on-site are locals too, and are always happy to recommend family activities, places to eat and the best local days out.

Owner recommendations

  • Walk just 10 minutes up the road to the beautiful village of Woodbastwick for a quaint country afternoon out. There’s 19th century architecture and a brewery offering tours and a tap room.

  • Both The Salhouse Bell and Salhouse Lodge are under new ownership and being renovated for the 2023 season and there are high hopes for both.

  • Try canoeing with a destination in mind. Wroxham and Horning are locals favourites, with village stores, craft centres and several lovely riverside pubs.
