Hameau de Montengrand

Child friendly cottage, Midi-Pyrenees

About Hameau de Montengrand

Hameau de Montengrand, in the South West of France, is a set of five chic cottages in a row, in a stunning setting of 30 acres of wildflower meadows and woodland, with ponies and sheep grazing nearby.  These beautiful old stone cottages been restored and turned into fabulous child-friendly places to stay, accommodating families of 2-8 people. With a private (heated) swimming pool on site, which overlooks the Pyrenees, animals to meet and child friendly activities to enjoy through the day there is plenty to keep all of your family happy.  Montengrand is close to the medieval town of Mirepoix, with it’s bustling French cafes and restaurants, and whilst beaches can be reached in just over an hour, there is a lake ideal for swimming just down the road and the area itself is drenched in French history with castles and forts aplenty.

Yummy catered meals are available to order and you’ll get a morning bread and croissant delivery… delicious!

If you need some extra pampering you can book massage and beauty treatments to enjoy on-site.

There’s a wonderful amount of outdoor space for children to play in, including a wooden fort and play house. A tipi contains dressing up clothes for the kids to let loose with imaginary play.

There are lots of animals at Hameau de Montengrand including chickens, sheep, and the resident miniature Shetland Ponies – plus guinea pigs to cuddle and feed!

Hameau de Montengrand hold regular ‘make your own pizza’ evenings - making good use of the fabulous wood-fired oven – and campfires on which to toast marshmallows. Such incredible, exciting experiences to make for a truly magical holiday with the kids.

Hameau de Montengrand is in a peaceful and beautiful rural setting in the midi-Pyrenees, described as “picture postcard perfect”.  It’s an area steeped in history with stunning castles to visit, and is just five minutes’ drive from the beautiful medieval market town of Mirepoix.

There are gorgeous nearby routes for walks and for cycle rides.  There is a nearby lake which you can go swimming in and around 1 hour 15 minutes’ drive takes you to some gorgeous Mediterranean beaches.

There’s plenty to do on site and Hameau de Montengrand is a perfect place to offer balance for ‘chill out days’ on-site and ‘exploring days’ going further afield.
