Camping is a joyful way to spend family time. With so many days out options in Britain's first national park The Peak Distrcit offers an easy family weekend break or full blown holiday in which to pitch up and do it! From exploring the park and taking a jaunt across the Upper Derwent Valley or Edale perfect for picnic spots and wildlife spotting. You must explore at least one cavern whilst staying here - visit Blue John's Cavern and see the rare Blue John Stone, as well as stalactites and stalagmites aplenty - and count the steps, there are more coming back up I thought! Speedwell Cavern offer boat rides - the Peak Cavern is the largest natural cave entrance in Britain. The Heights of Abraham meanwhile is a complete day out. The theme parks are close by if a day of thrills is on the cards - the beautifully sedate and kid-centric Chatsworth provides both a farmyard and adventure payground as well as stunning grounds to explore.
