Owner recommendations

  • The Church House Inn is our local pub (3 minutes by car or a 20 minute walk over fields). It serves great food, is child friendly, and also happens to be one of the oldest pubs in Britain.

The award winning Pennywell Farm is also very local to us, about 6-7 minutes by car, and is immensely popular with young families. Animals galore, activities throughout the day, on-site cafes and home of the famous pig racing.

The area is spoilt for choice when it comes to wonderful beaches, and our central South Devon location means that most of them are around a 25-35 minute drive away. We normally recommend Bantham or Bigbury as these have lots of fine sand and gentle slopes into the water - great for paddling and making sandcastles, but there are so many other great beaches that you could easily visit a different one each day of your stay.

You cannot visit Devon without seeing Dartmoor National Park, and we are right on its doorstep. Take a drive up to one of the picturesque villages, go for a walk across the moorland, or scramble to the top of a tor to get the best views of the dramatic landscape.
