Eastbury Cottage has three generous ensuite bedrooms; all of which are doubles. The master suite is gorgeous – with antique furniture, a modern ensuite and a roll top bath for rejuvenating soaks. The second bedroom is tucked up in the eaves and boasts exposed, original beams. The third is bright, spacious and beautifully furnished.

A cot can be hired for an additional fee and set up in one of the bedrooms. Fluffy towels, crisp linens and luxury toiletries are provided for all guests.

Eat

This lovely self catering property comes with an extremely well equipped kitchen (a cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer to name a few!) and dining room. The elegant dining room is furnished with a solid oak dining table seating up to six guests. Perfect for memorable evening meals and special occasions.

Outside you will find an attractive walled garden with alfresco dining table and terrace with barbecue for the warmer months. You can of course pop next door to the Eastbury Hotel and enjoy breakfast or afternoon tea at any time. Do pre-book, to avoid disappointment.

Activities

There’s plenty to keep you occupied on-site. The cottage has netflix on the smart TV, family games, books and puzzles. Next door in the hotel, kids will love the billiards table; ready for pool and snooker tournaments. The resident lounges have books and games, plus outdoor games during the spring and summer. Parents can indulge in spa treatments and gym time too.

There’s lots to see and do in Sherborne, just a few minutes down the road. Or further afield and discover the best of Dorset; rich historical sites, tranquil gardens, beautiful countryside and dramatic coastlines. There’s National Trust properties, museums, lots of wonderful parks and miles of walking routes on the doorstep.

Accessibility

Unfortunately, Eastbury Cottage isn’t wheelchair friendly. The three bedrooms are located upstairs and the property does not have a lift. However, accessible rooms are available in the Eastbury Hotel, just next door.

Where is it and how do you get there?

By Road

Eastbury Cottage is easily accessible via the A303, M5 and M3. It’s under an hour and a half to Bath or Bristol, and just over two and half to London.

By Air

Bristol Airport is the closest at just over an hours drive away. From any airport, guests can contact the hotel staff to arrange a taxi pick up.

By Rail

Sherborne Station is less than ten minutes’ walk from the hotel or just a few minutes by taxi. You can call or email the hotel to arrange a taxi pick-up. Direct trains from London Waterloo take around two hours.

The Cottage is looked after by the wonderful team at The Eastbury Hotel. Being surrounded by the winding meadows with deer and other wildlife is such a blessing and being able to share it with our guests is even better! We launched Eastbury Cottage in 2020 and it has proved a popular location for families to use as a base for their UK staycation! We are very lucky to be surrounded by not only the Dorset countryside but also a wide range of family attractions and the brilliant Jurassic Coastline. We pride ourselves in the quality of service we provide making everyone's visit a memorable one. With the Hotel just a stone's throw away we are available at any time to be of service to our guests.

Owner recommendations

Bring your bucket and spade and drive just 45 minutes to the historic Jurassic Coastline with panoramic views. Castle building, paddling and fossil hunting are a must-do.
Local attractions such as Sherborne Castle, National Trust properties and gardens, museums, Longleat Safari Park are all highly recommended.
The town of Sherborne is not to be missed, with antique shops, unique gifts and plenty of cafes where you can enjoy afternoon tea.
Bring your walking boots and try out the local walks for views of the glorious countryside.
