About the owners

Tapnell Farm Family

We’ve been farming at Tapnell and East Afton for nearly 40 years, evolving from purely dairy to what we are today: a fully diverse agricultural and holiday business. Tapnell enjoys some of the finest views on the Isle of Wight and sits on the site of the island’s original music festival, when Jimi Hendrix rocked out. We are forever looking to maintain and improve the land we are lucky enough to enjoy.

Tips from the owners

Local things to do, places to eat and attractions not to be missed.

  • Pre-book bikes for the whole family and enjoy exploring the wonderful cycle trails around the island.

  • Have a go at paddle boarding, kayaking, coasteering or mountain boarding with Adventure Activities.

  • Spend some time in the Meet the Animals area, where some of Tapnell’s smallest residents, and regular new arrivals hang out.

  • There are some fabulous opportunities to try out horse riding on the island with Hill Farm Stables.

  • Robin Hill country park is a fabulous day out with rides, adventure play and relaxing woodland walks.
